Hi there, I'm Catherine. Are you suffering from a broken heart? Did a divorce, or the end of a romantic relationship cause it? Or have you experienced a chronic illness, pet loss, death due to suicide, homicide or overdose? Grief is a person’s response to loss, entailing emotions, thoughts and behaviors as well as physiological changes. Grief is permanent after we lose someone close though it’s manifestations are variable both within and between people. We focus on promoting healing milestones and addressing stuck points in adapting to loss using active listening and personalized interventions with specific tools to help you cope with the loss. My approach to therapy is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), in which clients are taught to recognize how their thoughts are contributing to their distress, and through cognitive and behavioral approaches, are challenged to apply coping skills in situations where they are exposed to stress. Generally, some disruption within your personal system, such as an illness, loss, or death, brings you to therapy. Examining the relationships that are in your everyday life—friends, family, and communities—help determine where you would like to focus to give you better coping skills. It is my hope that you will allow me the opportunity to walk with you through your grief and or traumatic loss. I am here as a guide to help you navigate and teach you how to cope with the loss with supportive guidance every step of the way. I look forward to walking with you through this journey of healing from loss.

I have been working with families and teens in crisis for over 40 years and now though semi-retired I choose to use my skills to reach out through online therapy to support others. I come from a unique perspective that life is one of balance or imbalance. Balance is needed in our physical, emotional and spiritual lives and when out of balance life is just not right, we know it and sense it. Three main areas of imbalance are areas of power, perspective and pain. If you are powerless, your reality is off and can't think with clarity, if filtered through trauma one is left not knowing which area to begin "fixing things" and one feels overwhelmed not knowing how to grow or change. When balance is returned, trauma is on the road to healing, the mind is clear and empowerment comes, life is good and peace returns. I count myself a "theological therapist" or a "therapeutic theologian" as some things have to go deep to the soul level to heal and sometimes we need to realize some of our greatest pain comes from our greatest growth and it comes not from figuring things out at the head level, nor standing up for ourselves in an instant but from doing the deep soul work that leaves one finding joy again and resting in a peace that passes all understanding. I learned much of life and therapy on the front porches of the little town I was raised in and the little church on the corner that helped raise me. Of interest, I live on a mountain in South Carolina with my wife and four dogs. Licensed in Indiana since 1993.

When we have been through difficult things, oftentimes we feel misunderstood, unheard, unsafe and hopeless. I do not believe that trauma makes us stronger; rather, I believe that there is something beautiful within us that brings us through the trauma. Trauma processing allows us to let go of negative beliefs about ourselves and the world; beliefs such as “I am not safe,” or “I am unlovable.” These beliefs can make us feel stuck; like having a rich and full life is not possible. As your therapist, I will work to empower you to accept all parts of self, allowing for peace from within that will trickle into all facets of life. My training in both EMDR and attachment focused ego-state work allows me to be effective in treating complex trauma, as well as other mood disorders. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming. If you are exploring your gender identity or sexuality, you are welcome here.

Hi, I'm Shannon! As a counselor, it is my top priority to create an environment that fosters a healthy therapeutic alliance. This is the most critical component of client success, and my greatest professional joy. I believe that we already have the answers we are seeking. Using the support of another person to explore oneself and find the answers together is an extraordinary part of the human experience. The habits we develop, no matter how maladaptive, were established to protect us. I strive to help individuals honor the coping mechanisms that were created, while simultaneously recognizing when these habits no longer serve us. You have the capacity to heal.

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused, and Strength Based techniques in my practice. I'm a goofy social worker who likes to use a non-confrontational approach to working with my clients. I do believe that you know your story/life better than I ever will so I believe in what you have to say. One thing that makes me pretty different from other service providers is that I saw a need for session times available for clients later in the day and evening so I decided to have my scheduled be from Monday through Friday's from 12:30pm EST to 9pm EST. I hope to accommodate more people this way. I like to use humor and positive support for my client's as we go on this journey together to helping you achieve the goals we identify in session together. My goal is to work towards you having the skills, support, and confidence you need to be successful. I like to think outside of the box when I work with my client's so you just wait and see! Therapy doesn't need to be scary. Let's work together and maybe laugh through some of it. We got this! Together!

As the world has grown smaller with access to so much instant information, children and families are feeling overwhelmed. As families are trying to cope from this place of overwhelm, their relationships and connections are suffering. Childhood trauma can also play a major part in the way we shape our families. Recognizing and understanding generational trauma is one of the first steps in creating your family differently. Sometimes even adults need help to help their children. I have 35 years of experience helping children and families cope with all that life can throw at them. I understand life is complicated and rarely easy. I will offer a safe place to learn about yourself from a strength-based perspective. I have worked with people of all ages from children to older adults. I have worked with people with ADHD, depression, anxiety, school-related issues, divorce, and improving family relationships. I must say I am straightforward and direct. I rarely believe that a child's problem is just the child's problem. The child's problem is a family problem and parents are responsible for their children.

I first became interested in working with mental health when I returned home from Afghanistan while in the Army National Guard. I have seen many friends fall victim to substance abuse, depression, and PTSD. I swore that I would work on being in the position to best help veterans and others who go through difficult situations. Being an addictions counselor and Social Worker is very personal to me. It is my passion. Seeing that I already had a bachelor's in Community Health, I made it my goal to become some kind of practitioner. When I learned about Social Work, I was overwhelmed with the idea of getting my Masters and working towards a license. A few years later, I finally received my Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am proud of my license and it took 5 years of hard work to attain. I have now been working in the mental health and addiction field for roughly 10 years. I first got into counseling in the military. After a few years of working in inpatient mental health and substance abuse, I spent some time outpatient. I specialize in addictions but have much experience with people with depression, anxiety, and trauma. I have an extra certified credential of being a Certified Trauma Therapy Professional. I also have experience helping people dealing with relationships, careers, and other life issues as well. Also, I have experience working with those who have a criminal background. I try to listen and understand your problems and point of view the best I can. Based on this I work with you to develop a plan to help you make improvements. My main focus is to help you make a positive change. I hope to work around your needs. It's my hope that I can help support you through whatever it is you're going through. Some people just want support, while others want formal therapy. Just let me know what it is you're looking for. Sometimes people just need to talk to someone or need positive encouragement. I am happy to give this as well. I am here to be a positive person in the lives of people that need more positive people.

Hi everyone, I'm Greg I understand that emotions can be confusing, relationships can be messy, and past experiences can negatively impact our present lives, however, I believe that with proper coping strategies, we don’t have to remain stuck in dysfunctional patterns. I realize change can be scary and people often remain frozen in place due to the fear of the unknown. While change and acceptance are two concepts that are diametrically opposed, with the right mindset, they can work hand-in-hand to promote growth and healing. I have been helping clients improve their lives for over two decades. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, obtaining my Masters of Social Work through Indiana University and my Doctorate of Social Work through Capella University. My doctoral capstone project researched the use of Integrated Treatment to effectively treat co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders using a holistic approach to treat these disorders simultaneously, as oftentimes, the root causes of addiction are comingled with other underlying mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, trauma, or grief. I believe that treating both conditions simultaneously brings about the best chance of success for lasting healing and recovery. Before obtaining my doctoral degree, I spent two decades working at a community mental health center through its emergency services department. This experience provided the opportunity to work with diverse clients struggling with all manner of concerns. Additionally, I spent the past six years working part-time at an addiction recovery center treating clients individually, in groups, and with their family systems to help combat the disease of addiction. As a result of these opportunities, I am experienced in all manners of mental health, as well as addiction counseling, family counseling, and grief counseling.

I decided to become a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) therapist because I have always enjoyed helping people realize their potential, and when I was getting out of the army, I had a therapist to help me through that transition, which inspired me to follow this career path. When people experience trauma and stress, there is a tendency to develop a zoomed-in view of the problem and even blame themselves for the root of the problem. I am here to help you develop a more helpful and realistic outlook and note available solutions to what is going on. I have education and experience treating clients with depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder.

Are you looking for your life to be different somehow, but you aren't sure exactly what that would look like, let alone how to make it happen? I can help you identify your most pressing issues, then help you identify solutions that you believe will work and support you while you start to implement changes. I believe you are the most likely person to be able to identify your best solutions, and perhaps all you need is encouragement and acceptance to get started. I work from a background of existential theory (the idea that our human experiences are shared and we are all looking for meaning, purpose, satisfying relationships, and personal freedom), and I blend cognitive behavioral theory (CBT), motivational interviewing, radical acceptance, and humor (all techniques proven through research to be effective) into my therapy techniques. I aim to be easy to talk to, an excellent and attentive listener, and always supportive. I recommend helpful assignments in between therapy sessions to help you practice new skills and learn hidden aspects about yourself. I help people who have been codependent on their partner to become empowered to love fully and be loved back. I can help you learn specific techniques to lessen the symptoms of your anxiety, depression, and sleep disturbances. I believe therapy is about helping you look at yourself honestly, building up the things you love about yourself, and helping you improve the things you wish were different.

Do you often feel overwhelmed with life? Or do you feel that something from your past is keeping you stuck? I can help with anxiety, depression, past trauma, negative self talk, relationship issues and more. I have found great success with walking along side the people I work with to help them move from where they are to where they want to be…wherever that might be! I’m nonjudgmental and accepting of all walks of life- LGBTQIA+ individuals are welcome. I didn’t get into therapy to “fix” people, I use my practice to guide and help find new ways of doing or looking at things. I love being able to track the progress my clients make when they utilize the skills we’ve talked about in session. I use a mix of Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for most cases. For those suffering from PTSD, I use my Certified Clinical Trauma Professional training which includes somatic (body) work along with narrative work, all of which is grounded in the neuroscience of trauma. I’m not overly concerned with labels and diagnoses, I’m just here to help you make changes to function and feel better day to day. If you think my approach sounds like it would help you, please reach out and we can schedule our first session to determine if we’ll be a good fit to work together moving forward. I genuinely can’t wait to meet you.

I offer a variety of counseling services. My primary specialties are couples, ADHD-related issues (kids and adults), and men's issues. I love working with couples, families and individuals. I work with kids as young as 6 years old to people in their golden years. I enjoy working with men and men's issues. I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, anger management issues, ADHD-related issues (kids and adults), and life transitions. I graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2019 with my Master's degree and have 3+ years of experience. I worked as a Home Based Therapist working with families who had open DCS cases before moving into private practice full-time in April 2022. As a Christian, I approach what I do with a Christian worldview. This does not mean I try to shove my worldview down anyone's throat but I am not ashamed of who I am. I am very comfortable with clients who do not share my worldview. If a client wants to integrate their Christian faith into their counseling experience I am more than happy to integrate prayer and Scripture into their care.

If you are considering therapy, then you are already taking steps toward growth and change. My therapy specializations include but are not limited to, women's issues and trauma. What follows below is a list of issues that clients often bring up in our therapy sessions. The list is based on my professional experiences with clients, but by no means represents all of the topics and concerns that you may choose to address in therapy. Your issues are uniquely yours, and cannot be placed into anyone else's categories. I have found, however, that sometimes a list gets the ball rolling for potential clients! Some of the issues women bring up in our sessions include (but many additional issues are also discussed): Worry/Anxiety Sadness/Depression Coping with Divorce Self-Esteem Balancing Life "Roles" Self-Care Healthy/Unhealthy Relationships Adult/Child Trauma Trauma-Related Symptoms and Life Impact Life Transitions If you identified with any items on the above list or came up with items of your own, would you like help resolving these issues? The choice is yours. Therapy is for those who believe that their lives can get better and are willing to work to the best of their ability to make that happen. If you choose to work with me, I will be with you every step of the way, encouraging and challenging you to grow toward your best version of yourself.

Do you often find yourself a victim to life circumstance, stuck repeating patterns, unable to move forward? I'd like to meet with you. My name is Leslie. I hold a Masters and a Ph.D. in counseling psychology and have been licensed as a mental health or professional counselor (LMHC) since 1994. Over the past 25 years, I have worked as an individual counselor with college-aged students and adults in clinical, private practice, and non-profit settings. I also have past experience working as an Indiana University (Indianapolis) associate professor in their undergraduate and graduate counseling and psychology programs. My specialty as a counselor is helping you to quickly identify and understand your blind spots and move beyond them. Blind spots are those beliefs or areas of your life that often keep us stuck repeating the same patterns that cause relationship problems, depression, anxiety, and other issues. My role as a counselor is to assist you to regain a sense of control, improve mental functioning, and identify distorted thinking patterns that may contribute to your situation. Regardless of your history, you don't have to be a victim of your life's circumstances. You don't have to continue in the patterns of the past that are no longer working. Using theories or techniques of primarily rooted in cognitive psychology, I will help you identify the distorted thought patterns and core beliefs that no longer work for you and teach you the tools necessary to grow and move beyond your current challenge. Counseling can help you move beyond a state of helplessness by examining new possibilities and helping you make the changes necessary to create the life you want. The counseling relationship is important to the successful outcome of therapy. By building a relational foundation, you can lessen your defenses and open yourself to the possibilities for change. This foundation enables you to explore yourself and your situation, understand self-defeating behaviors, and make the necessary steps for change. You are an active participant in the counseling process. I love helping you understand yourself, the connections between your thoughts and emotions, your past and your present, and teaching you to be a master of your own thoughts. My approach is warm and empathetic, yet also direct and authentic. It's important to remember that as a counselor, I'm not here to judge you but rather to support, encourage, and guide you as you navigate through challenges.

Congratulations on seeking therapy! Most people who seek therapy or counseling report that they experience an improvement in mood and anxiety. I have also found this to be the case after many years of service. I believe I am easy to talk to and approachable. Therapists are very good listeners and will be honest with you, rather than just agreeing with you or dismissing your opinions. If you see me and we establish a plan, you will be in the driver's seat and will determine how much you need and for how long. Since most of what I am doing involves Telehealth, I ask that you cancel ahead of time if you cannot meet per schedule. I will do this as well. As your therapist, I will: Respect your privacy Respect your schedule Respect your opinions and values Respect the severity and urgency of your difficulties Make myself available when you need assistance Help you find answers and solutions rather than excuses and being “stuck"
