New to Grow
With my years of experience, I have helped individuals and families find the relief they seek and the habits they need to enjoy life again. I have come to truly believe that we are all doing the best we can with what we have and what we know; and yet, we all can do better and feel better. Non-judgmental conversation (with some experienced therapy skills sprinkled in) can lead to great ideas and healing.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
First sessions are so full of hope! You decide how much you want to share. I will ask questions to get to know you, but saying "pass" is always an option if you prefer not to answer. We may create a bit of a plan for what you would like to accomplish in therapy. Let's find out if we will be a good team!
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My role is to walk alongside you as you make brave choices for yourself. I can be a source of new skills and different ways of thinking without your feeling lectured, judged, or criticized. I grew up in a small town, now live on a farm, have travelled abroad, and worked in the city - so wherever you are coming from is just fine with me.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
If you think you might be ready to talk about what is happening in your mind, body, routines, relationships currently, and/or the past, then I am ready to hear all about it! If you are ready to move out of the rut, I would love the opportunity to partner with you. The willingness to experiment with new ideas is all you need.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
Dialectics: two truths that appear to contradict or be opposite of each other existing at the same time. I utilized my certification in DBT to help you find balance and the middle path through learning Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotion Regulation, Mindfulness, and Distress Tolerance skills to navigate the ups and downs of life.
