I am Morgan Girtman, MSW, LCSW and I specialize in walking alongside individuals of all ages as they navigate anxiety, grief, depression, life transitions, and chronic illnesses. Through compassionate, client centered care, I provide a supportive space for healing and growth. I work with children, teens, and adults facing emotional challenges, loss, and significant life changes. My goal is to be a steady, encouraging presence - helping you find clarity and strength in the midst of hardship. Together, we will work toward understanding your emotions, building resilience, and restoring a sense of hope.
In your first session, we will work to identify your struggles, your strengths, and your goals. You will be invited to share at your own pace, ask questions, and begin building a supportive, comfortable connection.
My therapeutic approach is shaped by over a decade of hospice social work and my personal journey with chronic illness. Living with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome has brought unexpected challenges and deepened my understanding of grief. I've experienced profound personal loss, including the death of my mother when I was a young adult. These experiences led me to hospice work, where I found purpose in supporting others as they navigate their own grief with compassion and resilience.
Whether you are coping with stress, grieving a loss, or adjusting to a new phase, you are not alone. Grief can be found in many places. Moving into the new home because you outgrew the old one but you brought your babies home from the hospital to the old one. Struggling to cope with a loss of function related to a chronic illness. Moving on from a relationship to grow and heal but missing the life you left. Events like these can lead to anxiety, depression, uncertainty, and grief. My hope is to support you as you journey through these life's stressors - so you can emerge with strong coping skills and a deeper belief in your ability to handle whatever comes your way.
I use Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help clients identify their strengths, build on what's already working, and move toward their goals with clarity and confidence. This approach is collaborative and future-oriented, focusing on small, meaningful changes that lead to lasting progress. Together, we highlight possibilities rather than problems, empowering clients to create solutions that fit their unique lives.
I use CBT to help clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. Through this process, clients gain practical tools to manage anxiety, shift negative self-talk, cope with life transitions, and build confidence. CBT helps foster self-awareness and emotional resilience - empowering you to face life's challenges.
In my practice, I use grief therapy to help clients process the pain of loss in a compassionate and supportive space. Together, we explore the emotional, physical, and spiritual impact of grief, while honoring each person's unique journey. Whether the loss is recent or long ago, situational or personal, I walk beside my clients, helping them navigate their emotions, adjust to life changes, and find meaning and healing at their own pace.
