(she/her)
I’m Donnica Carpenter, a licensed Mental Health Counselor with 20 years of experience. I’m passionate about building real connections with my clients and providing caring, unconditional support at every stage of their journey. I deeply admire those who take steps toward positive change in their lives. My work centers on helping people navigate challenges like anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and low self-esteem.
I help clients spot and change negative thought patterns and behaviors using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). My aim is to empower them to see their strengths, learn new skills, and foster a more positive mindset. This way, they can handle challenges more effectively and face difficulties with greater confidence and resilience.
My greatest strengths as a therapist include creating a calm, supportive space while also providing clear structure and direction. I am skilled at helping clients make sense of anxiety and depression in practical, manageable ways, translating complex emotional experiences into tools that can be used in daily life. Clients often describe my approach as grounding, thoughtful, and direct, with a balance of compassion and accountability that supports meaningful progress.
My ideal clients are adults who feel overwhelmed by persistent anxiety, low mood, or emotional exhaustion and are ready for practical support—not just a place to vent. They may be high-functioning on the outside but internally struggling with worry, self-doubt, or difficulty finding motivation and balance. They value a calm, structured approach to therapy and are open to learning skills that help them better understand their emotions, manage stress, and build steadier patterns in daily life. They are looking for a therapist who is supportive, direct, and collaborative—someone who can help them move from feeling stuck to feeling more grounded and capable.
