LCSW, 6 years of experience
Welcome to Grow Therapy. My name is Swan Roberts, and I am a licensed therapist, clinical social worker. I have 5 years of therapy experience. I was also in the U.S. army as a medic. I am so glad you have decided to seek help, and I look forward to meeting you on this healing journey. I decided to become a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) therapist because I have always enjoyed helping people realize their potential, and when I was getting out of the army, I had a therapist to help me through that transition, which inspired me to follow this career path. When people experience trauma and stress, there is a tendency to develop a zoomed-in view of the problem and even blame themselves for the root of the problem. I am here to help you develop a more helpful and realistic outlook and note available solutions to what is going on. I have education and experience treating clients who have gone through trauma, and clients who have symptoms of PTSD, depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder.
We will get to know you and the reasons that bring you to therapy, as well as the posittive qualities that keep you going.
I help my clients notice and utilize their strengths, and transform their beliefs, which leads to positive behavior transformations. It is very rewarding to see my clients get well through our work together.
I have worked with many clients who are struggling with difficult emotions, or numbness, especially after a big event has happened in their lives; and I help them process their feelings and reframe negative beliefs that in turn usually result in a positive change of behavior.

Her experience with PTSD and EMDR/IFS is what drew me to Swan. What has helped me stay is her recognition and compassion of my late autism diagnosis, her flexibility to work around my work schedule, and direct/efficient communication. From our first meeting, I have felt respected for speaking up for my needs and that has made me feel safe to be vulnerable with her.

Swan is my second therapist and I feel lucky to have found her. She is very kind and is helping me through a very difficult period in my life.
I use EMDR to help clients process past trauma by shifting any held negative beliefs through the use of this evidence-based neurocognitive bilateral stimulation approach.
I use IFS to help clients gain insight and help lessen the weight that parts of the self may carry due to difficult past experiences.
I use CBT to help clients challenge beliefs that may be negatively impacting their behavior.
