Are you interested in discovering how you could be using the scientific evidence that is now available that neuroplasticity and creating new neuropathways can make it possible to eliminate mental and even physical chronic disease conditions, allowing you to overcome obstacles like anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and childhood adversity, self-hatred, shame, and trauma?” Psychotherapists have developed many techniques to help people change the way they think, and this works well for some people, but not everyone. There are obstacles to doing years of therapy including cost. Sometimes even when someone can afford years of frequent psychotherapy it still doesn’t work for them. Yes, changing your thoughts is part of the rewiring process but not all of it. Thoughts may not be the best place to start in your efforts to change your neuropathways. Your mind includes more than thoughts, it includes parts like feelings, imagination, visualization, and intuition as well as the body wisdom of the extended vagus nervous system and body/brain chemicals, and the mind includes attention. I welcome all of your parts into the therapeutic alliance with compassion and work to understand them better.

If you feel distant from your usual self, or out of place in your day to day encounters, therapy with me can be a safe reintroduction to yourself.
I will be an ally, a guide and sometimes a mirror. I have up close and personal experience with recovery from addiction, broken families and broken hearts.
I became a therapist after many years of being a first responder. What I learned is that when people feel heard they respond because they feel safe. Being a therapist is helping with a different type of wound, but people know when some one truly cares how they are feeling.
Trauma is not only physical, our emotional trauma must be processed in order for us to grow.

** NOW offering virtual PCIT (Parent Child Interactive Therapy) and PRIDE skills. This is an evidence-based model used for young children (under 7).**
Background/Experience:
I graduated from Cal State University Fullerton with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Human Services in 2003. In 2005, I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Southern California (USC). Then in 2017, I earned my PPSC with an emphasis on Child Welfare and Attendance from Cal State Long Beach (CSULB).
Most of my clinical experience was obtained while working in county mental health. I specialized in the treatment of children between the ages of 3-18. I provided individual, group, and parenting services to high-risk youth. Many of my clients were discharged from inpatient treatment facilities, were on probation, or living in out-of-home placements. I used a combination of talk therapy and evidence-based treatment models to best address their mental health issues, all while collaborating with programs such as Wraparound, MDFT, TBS and others.
I also provided Mental Health Related Services (MHRS) to students receiving counseling as part of their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). I worked closely with special education staff to identify treatment goals focused on helping students benefit from their education placement.
I also have 10 yrs experience working for a foster adoption agency. I contributed to promoting safety, family reunification, adoption, and supportive parenting.
My love and passion is to help children and their families with strengthening their relationships, healing, and reaching their mental health goals.
I also provide short-term solution-focused individual counseling to adults dealing with life changes, transitions, and boundary challenges.
Life is hard, challenging, and sometimes just overwhelming. I would love to be a tool that you can use to help you throughout your mental health journey.
