LCSW, 13 years of experience
My name is Wendy Bertram and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW/LISW) based out of Arizona with a Masters in Social Work from ASU. Currently I'm licensed in both Arizona and Iowa, providing both in-person and teleheatlh services. I use a client centered approach and multiple therapy models, depending on your needs. I am here to partner with you to work through the issues causing disruptions in your life and to help you meet your goals. Everyone’s experience is unique, and the therapeutic experience should reflect this. My expertise spans various areas, including life transitions, anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, grief and loss, self-esteem struggles, stress and worry, caregiver stress, and those struggling with the impacts of medical diagnoses. By employing a client-centered approach, I work to foster a safe and non-judgmental space for individuals to explore their emotions, thoughts, and experiences. I employ evidence-based interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness techniques, and solution-focused therapy to promote personal insight, resilience, and coping skills for positive change.
You can expect a safe and supportive environment with an appreciation for sharing your life story. Sessions will consist of establishing goals for what you want to work on and receiving the tools/skills/strategies needed to accomplish those goals. You will leave the sessions feeling heard and empowered to move through your challenges with a new look at life.
My years of experience, personal and professional, are my greatest strengths. I have acquired experiences (both lived and educational) to pass along to my patients that provide a connection of rapport and understanding.
Since graduating from ASU in 2011, I have been working in Medical and Mental Health, both in the inpatient and outpatient environments as a mental health, medical, and Veterans social worker. My practice focuses on adults ages 20 years old and up. I have worked in geriatric behavioral dementia units with emphasis on the older adult population. I have a Master's and Doctorate degrees in Social Work. I specialize in working with adults/seniors with mental health and medical challenges as well as family issues, stress, and adjusting to life challenges.

I found Wendy to be very attentive and patient when I shared my issues with her. I really appreciate the insights and challenges she kindly brought to my attention and I benefitted from these. I feel it is important to put effort and thought into advice from professionals; take action and try new approaches and see if they help with life's challenges. Wendy's support got me through some tough emotional times! thank you Wendy!!

Very glad to have found a listening heart. Feel optimistic about the next appointment. Thanks
While working with me, you'll explore how to change a pattern of thinking and behavior, set boundaries, overcome difficult relationships, work through losses, and build self-esteem.
I use a client centered approach and several therapy models, depending on your needs. I create a safe, accepting, and trusting relationship with my clients to allow for change and growth.
I've spent numerous years working in Healthcare both Medical and Mental Health. At times the best approach for therapy is symptom targeted and solution focused, especially when life rapidly changes due to a sudden change in your health or that of a loved one.
