Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, my primary goal is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard and understood. I’ll take time to get to know you—what brings you to therapy, any current concerns or challenges, and what you’re hoping to gain from our work together. We’ll explore your background at a pace that feels comfortable for you, and I may ask questions to better understand important relationships, life experiences, or patterns that might be relevant to your goals. This session is also an opportunity for you to get a sense of how I work and ask any questions you might have about the therapy process. By the end of the session, we’ll begin identifying focus areas and discuss what ongoing therapy might look like. Above all, I want you to leave feeling respected, supported, and hopeful about what we can accomplish together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a warm, grounded, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel truly seen and supported. My approach is collaborative and relational—I work alongside clients to explore the underlying patterns, beliefs, and emotions that shape their experiences, always at a pace that feels safe and empowering. I draw from evidence-based practices such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Attachment Theory, and systems-based approaches, integrating them in a way that is personalized to each client’s needs. Whether I’m working with individuals, couples, or families, I focus on helping clients build insight, improve communication, and move toward meaningful, lasting change. Clients often share that they feel more connected to themselves and others through our work—that they gain not just clarity, but tools for healing, growth, and healthier relationships. My goal is not only to help clients feel better, but to support them in living more authentically and with greater emotional freedom.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I specialize in working with individuals, couples, and families navigating relational challenges, life transitions, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm. I am best positioned to serve clients who are motivated to gain insight into their relational patterns, explore their inner emotional world, and engage in meaningful personal or interpersonal growth. Whether you're feeling stuck in recurring conflicts, coping with stress, struggling to communicate effectively, or seeking deeper connection and clarity, my approach is supportive, collaborative, and tailored to your goals. I work well with clients who are open to reflection, value emotional honesty, and are ready to engage in a therapeutic process that fosters both understanding and change.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use mindfulness, acceptance, and behavior change strategies so that the clients can choose behavior in line with their values.

Attachment-based

With my clients, I aim to build or rebuild a trusting, supportive relationship that will help prevent or treat mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression connected between an infant’s early attachment experiences with primary caregivers, usually with parents.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I utilize the trauma focused CBT to addresses the mental health needs of children, adolescents, and families suffering from the destructive effects of early trauma and mood disorders resulting from sexual abuse, as well as from physical abuse, violence, or grief.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I utilize this treatment method for clients with borderline behavioral personality disorders to help manage intense emotions and their relationships.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

This method is used by me as a treatment on clients that could have problems including depression, anxiety disorders, alcohol and drug use problems, marital problems, eating disorders, and severe mental illness.
