Hi there, I’m Douglas. When anxiety, uncertainty, or burnout take over, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and unsure of your next step. It doesn’t have to stay that way. I work primarily with gay men and LGBTQ+ adults who appear confident on the outside but feel anxious, scattered, or self-critical underneath. Many are high-achieving professionals navigating ADHD, rumination, identity stress, or relationship challenges while trying to meet strong internal and external expectations. As a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, Certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, and ADHD Clinical Services Provider, I bring both structure and depth to our work. Together, we’ll identify patterns that keep you stuck, regulate emotional reactivity, and build practical systems that support clarity and follow-through. Therapy with me blends insight with action—so change feels steady, grounded, and sustainable. If you’re ready to feel more centered, confident, and aligned in your life and relationships, I’d be honored to support you.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other and building a foundation of trust. We’ll talk through what’s bringing you in, what feels most urgent, and what you’d like to see change. You don’t need to have everything clearly defined—that’s something we’ll work on together. Each session lasts 53 minutes and is structured to balance exploration with clarity. I’ll ask thoughtful questions about your history, current stressors, and goals, and we’ll begin outlining a personalized plan tailored to your needs. You can expect a collaborative, grounded conversation—not pressure, not performance. By the end of our first meeting, you should have a clearer sense of direction and what our work together will look like moving forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What sets my work apart is the balance between depth and direction. Many clients arrive insightful but stuck—aware of their patterns yet unsure how to translate awareness into change. My approach blends evidence-based CBT with practical systems that strengthen emotional regulation and follow-through. Sessions are thoughtful, structured, and actionable—not just supportive conversations. Through Grow, I focus exclusively on individual therapy so we can concentrate fully on your personal goals. I also provide couples therapy within my private practice outside this platform.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal therapy clients are thoughtful LGBTQ+ adults and professionals who want therapy that feels affirming, insightful, and practical. They may be navigating ADHD, anxiety, relationship stress, identity concerns, life transitions, or the quiet exhaustion that comes from holding everything together on the outside while feeling overwhelmed inside. Many of the clients I work best with are bright, capable, and self-aware, yet still find themselves stuck in familiar patterns: overthinking, procrastinating, people-pleasing, avoiding conflict, struggling with follow-through, or feeling emotionally reactive when life becomes too much. They are not looking to be judged or “fixed.” They are looking for a place where they can slow down, understand what is happening, and begin making meaningful changes. I especially enjoy working with LGBTQ+ clients who want a therapist who understands that identity, belonging, family history, shame, relationships, and self-trust can all shape how we move through the world. Therapy can be a space to explore these layers with honesty, care, and respect. I also work well with adults with ADHD who want support that goes beyond generic tips. Together, we can explore emotional regulation, executive functioning, motivation, rejection sensitivity, burnout, and the real-life challenges of getting things done without constantly fighting yourself. The clients I serve best are curious, engaged, and ready for therapy that blends insight with action. They want to feel understood, but they also want movement. They want compassion, but they also want tools. Most of all, they want to build a life that feels steadier, more honest, and more aligned with who they truly are.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I’m a Certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist and ADHD Clinical Services Provider. CBT is the foundation of my work because it offers practical, structured ways to understand how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact. Together, we identify patterns that fuel anxiety, rumination, or self-criticism and build more balanced, effective responses. For clients navigating ADHD, we incorporate strategies that strengthen focus and follow-through. For gay and LGBTQ+ clients, we explore identity-related stress, internalized narratives, and emotional regulation in a way that feels affirming and grounded. Sessions are collaborative and skill-focused—you’ll leave with insight and concrete tools you can apply in daily life.
