Hi there! I know for a lot of people, starting therapy or looking for a therapist can feel confusing and overwhelming. I usually tell people one, simple piece of advice from a trusted mentor....choose someone you feel safe with. And I agree with him. Choose a therapist you get that "safe feeling" with. Trust your gut. My therapy style is relaxed, warm, and intuitive. I find healing happens organically in a safe and supportive environment. Once this foundation is established, I like to offer intuitive questions, psycho-education, and clinical guidance to guide your Soul back to alignment, integrity, and joy. I am a big fan of inner child work, shadow work, self-compassion, and mindfulness.

We come to therapy to understand and solve our most complex personal challenges. When suffering goes deep enough, therapy is an intuitive response to problems that are emotionally complex and cannot be solved by our ordinary methods. Therapy alleviates our isolation by giving us the specialized and dedicated attention of a therapist. Therapy restores or kindles confidence in our ability to make it through difficult times. Lastly, it gives us some emotional distance, some sense of freedom, from the at times consuming turmoil of our personal lives by stimulating a deeper or broader understanding. I am not a passive presence in the room (or on the screen). I listen carefully for understanding and I tend to interact - openly questioning, searching, and challenging. My roots are psychodynamic and comtemplative, though I tailor my work to each client's unique needs. My personal style is warm, open, and engaging. A particular interest of mine is the relationship between psychological growth and spiritual development. As a long time meditation practitioner, I am drawn to ancient spiritual traditions and to how they can inform and deepen our hectic and restless modern lives.

I utilize a positive theoretical orientation which assumes that all individuals possess an innate desire for well-balanced emotional/mental health. I believe a person enters therapy with a strong wish, whether conscious or unconscious, to overcome obstacles and free themselves from constraints that are holding them back. I find that everyone needs a slightly different approach to accomplish these goals, so I adjust in technique for each specific challenge. I truly enjoy the experience of guiding my clients through this process and consider it a privilege to play such an important role in a person's life. “Crying does not indicate that you are weak. Hello, i'm Randy. Despite having the title of being a therapist, I believe that no matter how many years of work experience a therapist has, and no matter how many credentials/degrees a therapist has, all of that goes out the window if they don't have the ability to click and level with their clients. Initiating therapy services may feel like a leap of faith; as one would have to initiate a process in which they will be meeting with a therapist who is a complete stranger to them in the beginning. So congratulations on taking the first step for seeking treatment ! I have worked with a variety of clientele throughout my career in the mental health field; which consisted of 3 years of working with adults, and 3 years of working with children/adolescents aged 3-17, as well as the adult population. My goal is to provide support to adults who are experiencing difficulties reaching their full potential in life due to both internal and external hardships.

I have worked with several clients, including children, transitional-aged youth, adults, and families. Therapeutic services can look different for each individual. I am trained in utilizing TF-CBT to assist individuals with a history of trauma in healing. My treatment modalities include cognitive behavioral therapy and solution-focused techniques delivered with compassion and empathy. I strongly believe that a therapeutic experience should include a strengths-based perspective with result-driven techniques. I believe the most critical part of client care is building a trusting and mutually respected relationship to achieve the client's desired outcome. This is my first career and something I have always been pulled to; my journey is a thorough reflection of why I work in this field. My path to becoming a licensed therapist was very intuitive-based; I went through experiences of pain, guilt, shame, loss of self, and the loss of my overall sense of life. Through my journey, I was able to understand pain and trauma, taking on a lot of spiritual remedies while turning my pain into passion, my passion into purpose, and my purpose into power as a healer. Due to my licensure journey, I not only understand the educational part of pain, trauma, and healing, but I also experienced painful and challenging moments myself, bringing me to a higher purpose for self and meaning of life! I am highly intuitive, empathic, gentle, and calm, and I am a good listener and healer. I have worked in addiction, with children who have autism and intellectual disabilities, PTSD, anxiety, depression, life coaching, spirituality, and connecting to the higher self.

Building self-awareness is often a hard place to start. I meet my patients where they are in their journey and support the process. Sometimes taking the first step to explore psychotherapy is confusing. Ask questions so you can find a therapist who is the right fit for you. My approach meets people where they are presently, to determine where they want to be in the future. I like to get to know my new patients to determine their needs in treatment.

Hi, I am a licensed clinical social worker in San Diego, California. My primary background experience is in helping clients to regain/increase control over their mental health, via developing increased insight/understanding of symptoms, identifying and utilizing coping skills, developing positive support systems, and increasing ability to problem-solve/navigate challenges. I am currently accepting referrals for adult clients at least 24-25 years old and older, but am open to working with younger adults also (18 or older) if we are a good match as well. I am unfortunately not accepting clients under the age of 18 at this time. I have worked with adults in multiple settings, including those experiencing active crisis within acute locked psychiatric care, clients coming into outpatient clinics for mental health services and counseling/groups, clients utilizing substance use disorder treatment individually and in groups, and adult clients with developmental disabilities in the group home setting. Professionally, I've also worked both as direct care staff as well as in management and supervisor roles, and have also mentored undergraduate and graduate students. I'm looking forward to meeting you and offering you support. *** At this time I am unfortunately only able to meet with clients at the top of each hour. This is in order to maximize the number of clients I can meet with during each week. Thank you for your understanding. ***

Hi I'm Bethany. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California. Is this your first time looking for a therapist? I imagine it may feel a little scary, which is normal. I strive to create a comfortable and safe space for my clients where they can share their thoughts and feelings without fear of being judged. Whether you are a high schooler or young adult, navigating new territories and relationships can be scary at times. Maybe you have been struggling with anxiety and depression since being a young teen and you are finding it harder to cope, it could be a great time to starting dealing with it now and I can assist in learning these tools to help! I have several years experience working on high school and college campuses assisting individuals who are struggling with academics due to mental health issues or simply needed a listening ear and support when they did not have anyone else to turn to. I would love to have the chance to be there alongside you to help these transitions be easier and be there to celebrate your successes! Due to my experience and expertise, my ideal ages to work with are High Schoolers, College Age and Young Adults.

I have experience working with individuals facing struggles with: depression, anxiety, family and interpersonal conflict, grief, life transitions, self-esteem issues, and enhancing self-awareness. I prefer to provide one-on-one therapy rather than couples' work, and enjoy working with adolescents and adults of all ages. My current work leans upon on the theoretical frameworks of: cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, mindfulness-based, DBT (dialectical behavior therapy), client-centered, and solution focused therapies. I can assist you to develop healthy coping strategies through self-evaluation, skill building, self- acceptance and healing from abuse. Achieving a healthier approach to the way you think, make decisions, and relate to others can help clear a way to the path you want to take!

Welcome to my (safe) space!!! I'm a bit of a Fred Roger's enthusiast, so let me start by saying thank you for being you!! My most important value is to treat people with love and respect, no matter their background, no matter their circumstances!! I believe we all deserve it!!! My name is Jose-Santos Xavier Orozco, feel free to call me whatever makes you comfortable!!! Life to me is about being flexible, or like Bruce Lee said, like water, being able to bend and reshape whenever needed, while maintaining strength and purpose!!! I am a 36 year old male therapist who was born in SF and raised in Los Angeles! My early years were spent in the foster care system until I was placed into a permanent family at the age of 6. I am of mixed Ethnic background and have experienced culture/ identity difficulties since as long as I can remember. Life has naturally brought me to get a degree in Social work and work in this field. I would definitely consider myself a wounded warrior, although I feel like my injuries have been pretty well tended to by now. Learning to accept and love yourself has been my greatest achievement (on-going achievement) and I promise that when you get there too, it can be yours as well!!! I prefer working with ADULT population; I have very limited experience working with kids. Thank you
