I am a client centered therapist/psychologist with 13+ years of experience working with couples and individuals age 18 and older. My schedule is generally Monday through Thursday from 9-5 PT and Friday from 9-3 PT. You can expect me to be empathic and understanding of your concerns, without judgment. I won't be telling you how to live your life or giving you advice you haven't asked for. If you want advice, please don't hesitate to ask. I will do my best. I work with you to help you gain insight into what is bothering you. Together we can help find new ways of understanding yourself (self-empathy) and discover/change how you are looking at the world around you. We can work to relieve symptoms of depression and anxiety. My goal is to eventually have you be able to better handle feelings and emotions and live a happier more fulfilled life without me being there to help. What are your goals? In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I will look for you to give me informaiton about your upbringing and education and career/job details as we move into what moved you to start therapy and where you hope to go and what goals you might have for our therapy sessions.

The treatment methods and tools I utilize

Client centered empathy and unconditional positive regard. (CCT) Creating discrepancy; differences between the way you feel and the way you want to feel. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy coping strategies. (CBT) Dialectical Behavioral Therapy emotion regulation skills. (DBT) Gentle confrontation. Pointing out areas for redirection. (Gestalt) Culturally aware and sensitive language and communication.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Helping individuals feel understood and gain personal insights into better understanding themselves. Helping couples learn how important communication is and what good communication looks like.

I appreciate that he’s direct and doesn’t just tell me what I want to hear. He challenges me in a way that helps push me toward my goals. At the same time, he’s warm, caring, and understanding-which makes me feel supported, even when the conversations are tough.

I believe that Brian’s approach was warm and helpful as he guided us to look within ourselves and to see each other. We needed to listen to each other and give each other time to share how we were feeling about different situations. It took us awhile to get there but we did.
