Welcome, I’m Sam Moglen, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist providing therapy for individuals throughout California via online sessions. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by grief, anxiety, depression, or relationship challenges, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Whether you’re facing grief, anxiety, or relational challenges, I consider it an honor to accompany people through difficult seasons and witness their growth.

Therapy can help you feel more grounded, more connected, and more at ease in your daily life. My approach is warm, collaborative, and attuned to your nervous system. I integrate EMDR, somatic therapy, and nervous system-based approaches to help you process difficult experiences and shift patterns that no longer serve you. Rather than just talking about problems, we’ll gently work with both your thoughts and your body’s responses so you can experience lasting change, not just temporary relief.

First session

Our first meeting is really about starting a conversation. I’ll invite you to share what brought you in, what you hope to get out of therapy, and a bit of your background. Just as important, you’ll get a feel for my style and whether it feels like a good fit for you. Think of it less as an interview and more as a chance to begin building a safe and supportive connection.

Strengths

I believe therapy offers something rare in daily life: a space to slow down, reflect, and connect more deeply with yourself. Whether you’re facing grief, anxiety, or relational challenges, I consider it an honor to accompany people through difficult seasons and witness their growth.

Treatment methods

Somatic

Somatic therapy is rooted in somatic psychology, a body-oriented approach to psychology. Somatic therapies work by addressing the feedback loop that continually runs between the mind and the body.

EMDR

I have used EMDR for several months and use it in a safe comfortable space for clients.

Polyvagal Therapy

I have been using the principles of polyvagal theory for two years to support clients in understanding their nervous system to improve their mental health and wellbeing.

Sam continues to provide me a holding space, together with validating my emotions and experiences, and normalizing. He's very attentive and visibly caring. I feel very safe with him. He allows process, flexibility, together with opportunity to share new helpful information.

I feel heard, seen and understood. I feel I can trust him. And for someone with a lot of trauma in my background that says a lot.

An amazing person that makes you feel heard and that you are truly safe, and allows you moments of silence and reflection about emotions and what's going on. Amazingly aware of non verbal behaviors and allows to slow down and process deeper. So helpful for trauma work, and not jumping the gun to "problem solve" or provide solutions, and instead, process. He shows up with intention, and has such a calm and emphatic way about him. I hope to do EMDR with him, and work towards THRIVING!
