I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) specializing in anxiety disorders, including Obsessive Compulsive Disorders, PTSD, phobias, and social anxiety. With a client-centered approach and a family systems background, I love to work with individuals to help them overcome challenges, improve relationships, and foster lasting change. My goal is to provide compassionate, effective therapy tailored to each person’s unique needs.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we'll focus on getting to know each other and building a trusting relationship. We'll discuss your current challenges, goals, and any relevant history, as I conduct a thorough intake assessment. This helps me understand your unique needs and tailor our work together. My goal is to make you feel comfortable and supported, setting the foundation for a collaborative, effective therapy process.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My strength as a provider lies in creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can be their authentic selves and feel comfortable letting down their guard. I take a straightforward approach, guiding clients with clarity and focus to help them achieve their goals and make meaningful and measurable progress in therapy.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am well-suited to work with individuals facing anxiety-related issues such as OCD, PTSD, phobias, social anxiety, and generalized anxiety disorder and other relational issues. My structured, solution-focused approach works best for clients who are motivated to make lasting change and feel temporary discomfort. I excel in helping clients gain clarity, improve relationships, and develop effective coping strategies in a supportive, client-centered environment. Not accepting couples at this time.

My treatment methods

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)

Through repeated exposure and learning new coping skills, ERP helps break the cycle of anxiety, allowing you to regain control and build confidence in handling distressing situations. This evidence-based approach has been proven effective for treating various anxiety disorders, including OCD, phobias, and generalized anxiety.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT helps individuals increase psychological flexibility by teaching them to accept difficult thoughts and emotions rather than avoid or control them. The goal is to live a meaningful life aligned with personal values, even in the presence of discomfort.

Trauma Informed Care

Prolonged Exposure Therapy helps people process trauma by gradually and safely confronting trauma-related memories, feelings, and situations, reducing avoidance and allowing the brain to relearn that these memories and cues are no longer dangerous.

Family Therapy

Family therapy helps improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen relationships within the family. It focuses on understanding family dynamics, addressing negative patterns, and improving how family members interact. The goal is to create a supportive, harmonious family environment where everyone feels heard and valued.

Farah is incredible. This was our first session with her and although we had some somewhat heavy issues, she made it a breeze to get through. She made both of us feel safe and optimistic. I’ve experienced a few therapist, and this was by far the best first session I’ve ever experienced. She truly has a calling for this space and we look forward to more sessions with her.

Farah provides a safe, judgement-free zone where I can share my deepest thoughts and feelings. Her kindness encourages me to take a leap of faith, to allow her to truly see me, and therefore help me. She gives me new perspective on myself, and helps me work towards being the person, wife, friend, and daughter I want to be. Therapy isn't meant to be easy, but therapists like Farah make it a whole lot easier to do the hard work.
