Hello! I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker and I also have a doctorate in applied clinical psychology. I have worked as a clinical therapist for 13 years (children and adults) in many settings. Some of my specialties include: depression, anxiety, trauma, LGBTQIA+, grief, and life transitions. I have an eclectic approach, but tend to prefer CBT and motivational interviewing to empower clients and give them more control over their own sessions.
In our first session I will gather further information about you and your history. I will explore your goals and the issues that you are experiencing in order to create a treatment plan that will effectively address your concerns and goals.
Some of my greatest strengths are: going at the client's pace, providing a safe space where the client feels comfortable enough to share anything without feeling like they have to filter themselves, active listener and clear communicator, and I am empathetic.
I enjoy working with adults that are open to alternate approaches to the challenges that they are experiencing. I believe that the best outcomes are when both the therapist and client work together in finding the right solutions and approaches to resolve their issues and challenges. I also enjoy working with older teens that are eager to make changes to improve their situation.
I have used this type of treatment for depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and major life transitions among other situations that clients are experiencing. CBT allows the person to gain awareness of triggers, emotional responses, and behaviors. It also allows people to problem-solve and process the root of certain issues and responses.
I have use this type of treatment to empower clients in identifying the problem and the solution themselves to eventually become self-sufficient and not dependent on the therapist. It allows people to have a bit more control over their sessions.
I used psychoeducation to help clients understand their diagnosis, symptoms, and treatment.
