I am an LCSW working in the Bay Area, with experience in Child Protection/ At-risk family service, Home Health & Hospice service, and community mental health center. My primary clients are the Asian community (new immigrants or their descendants), and I address issues such as stress management, depression, anxiety, and immigration trauma. In my previous work, I have also supported patients dealing with postpartum depression and parenting concerns. Because I have similar experiences, I can empathize with the struggles involved and use insights from Asian traditional culture to better understand your thoughts and feelings in the therapeutic process. I offer counseling services in Chinese, ensuring that language barriers do not prevent you from receiving support. I aim not only to provide you with psychological and emotional support but also to assist you in utilizing community resources to ensure you receive comprehensive care.
We will review the confidentiality policy, no-show policy, and service fees. Additionally, we’ll discuss your primary concerns, symptoms, and their frequency, as well as conduct a safety check to assess any suicidal ideation in the past week. A brief psychosocial assessment will help us gather information about your background, trauma, life experiences, support systems, and coping skills you’ve tried. Together, we will create a service agreement and treatment plan, identifying the goals you wish to pursue.
I am genuinely empathetic, which allows me to easily connect and build rapport with my clients. Many have described me as a gentle, warm, and compassionate person, creating a sense of healing in our interactions. I maintain an open and non-judgmental attitude, making clients feel safe and secure in our conversations. While I may not be the most senior or knowledgeable person, I am dedicated to supporting you and accompanying you on your life journey.
I serve that clients are willing to engage in self-reflection and maintain a sincere, open attitude towards self-exploration, gaining insight and motivation for change. Even if the motivation is minimal, that’s okay as long as there is a willingness to try. Remember, you are the best expert on yourself; if you give up too soon, the effectiveness of counseling may be compromised.
