Hi, there, I'm Taffie -
Thank you so much for talking with me! Sometimes it's hard to ask for help - and therapy is a great start! Therapy is not at all scary - often it is a conversation that opens up new thoughts and emotions.
Are you looking for a safe welcoming place where you can just be? Be heard, be valued, be accepted exactly where you are? I invite you into my space to experience these thoughts and emotions. As a therapist, I incorporate different approaches which address a variety of mental health issues. I empower you to move forward in life in a way that is dynamic and nurturing. I have an unwavering belief that you can experience change based on your needs and goals. We can walk through challenge and fear together to help you create a fulfilling life.
My specialties are relationships with family and other significant folks - such a crucial part of our lives. I also can address trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression and the fluctuations of our mood and emotions. I am always open to discussions of gender identity and sexual identity.
I would like to listen as you articulate the issues you are dealing with at this time and help you find the direction you're looking for. It can be freeing to have someone listen, ask questions and make observations - because this time is about you.
One of my favorite quotes is: "I am a lighthouse, rather than a lifeboat. I do not rescue, but instead help others to find their way to shore". If you are searching for the way to the shore, I can help.

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist with several years of experience working with diverse populations of adult individuals and couples. One of the core values that guides my treatment approach is the belief that nothing happens in isolation. I firmly believe that every behavior, thought and feeling has underlying reasons and meanings that deserve exploration. With genuine care and empathy, I help you uncover the root of your struggles, empower you to gain insight and achieve lasting growth.
Being born and raised in Turkey and living in many different parts of the country allowed me to develop a passion for understanding the complexities of human behavior and relationships early on. This passion led me to pursue my bachelor’s degree at Koc University, Istanbul where I double majored in psychology and sociology.
Driven by my curiosity and desire to make a positive impact, after completing my undergraduate experience in Turkey, I moved to the US, and I continued my graduate experience at Drexel University, Philadelphia and got my master’s degree from Master of Family Therapy. My cultural and educational background helped me to acquire a comprehensive understanding of the individual and societal factors that shape your experiences. For these reasons, I view your well-being through a systemic lens, and recognize the profound influence of your home environment, work life, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, race and cultural background on your behaviors, feelings, and thoughts.

Have you been wondering if your current challenges are due to past traumatic life events? Do you struggle in relationships? If so, I may be the Therapist for you. I specialize in trauma therapy for teenagers and adults.
Many people often think trauma is only caused by violent crimes, acts of physical abuse, or natural disasters. They may also think because trauma happened a long time ago, it does not affect them in the present. These are a few of the myths about trauma. There are many types of traumas such as the sudden or unexpected death of a loved one, bullying, retaliation in the workplace, neglect from parents, infidelity, intimate partner violence, the witnessing of domestic violence and more.
If you or your teen is struggling with anxiety, depression, or life stressors, therapy with me can help with positive changes to strengthen self-esteem and confidence.
I am trained in EMDR and other trauma therapy approaches. My years of professional experience as a teacher and counselor, along with my lived experiences as a Black person allow me to provide empathetic regard while helping clients from multicultural backgrounds.

Our stressors, which can include hectic lives, and often overwhelming schedules, can keep us from living our very best life. Do you wish you could just check out of the matrix and reset if only for a moment? Well, I am here to help you do just that.
I am both an LPC and MFT and for this reason, I utilize an eclectic mix of therapeutic modalities and resources to help you regain a sense of control when life feels chaotic. Granting you the space to verbally process all the answers (which by the way have been placed inside you) necessary to heal and deal with all life throws your way.
My history includes a 25-year teaching career and a slow transition to a full-time therapist in the last 7 years. The classroom experience is where I learned the foundational structure and hands-on impact of counseling (as teachers are literally everything to everybody).

I'm so glad you're here! I’m excited to collaborate with you in working toward increasing sexual safety, wellness, and pleasure in your life. I'd love to work together to figure out what you’re already doing that’s working for you and develop a plan to build on your current strengths and supports to help you move toward the sexual life and relationships you want.
Most of us have been taught not to talk about sex and our bodies, and many of us have been taught to be ashamed of our bodies and what we think about, fantasize about, and do sexually. I believe that everyone is a sexual being and that sexual expression is a healthy part of all of our lives.
Sometimes all we need is for someone to hold a safe space for us while we explore and process. Sometimes what we need is specific education, skills, and the support to develop them. As a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of experience in the field of sexual wellness, my goal isn’t to tell you where you should go, what you should do, or how you should be, but to help you move in the direction of the life you want, wherever that might take you.

Hi,
I am Diane Smith, a licensed practicing counselor, in Pennsylvania. Congratulations for making the decision to do therapy. I have worked in clinical counseling psychology for 14 years. I love to help people achieve their goals. We all go through difficult times and I am trained to help people overcome obstacles.
Together we can work on the issues that are holding you back. It doesn't matter if it's anxiety, depression, you're burned out, poor boundaries, OCD, addictions, relationship issues, grief and loss you name it we can handle it. You deserve to live your best life.
If you are new to therapy don't worry. It's like talking to a good friend who is legally bound to not share a word you say. There are 3 reasons when I am legally bound to report, since I am a mandated reporter, 1. You threaten to kill the president 2. You threaten to harm yourself. 3. You threaten to harm someone else.
Also, you won't be judged for anything you tell me. People do what they do for many reasons. Most of my clients say that I am very easy to talk to and that they feel safe sharing with me. I hope that you give me a shot! I look forward to going on a journey with you.
Thanks for your time,
Diane Smith

I specialize in working with men who struggle with self-esteem, relationships difficulties, motivation issues, social anxiety, ADHD, depression, and parenting issues. The clients I work with generally fall into 3 groups of people.
The 1st struggles with self-esteem, social anxiety, some difficulties with forming healthy relationships, sensitivity to rejection, uncertainty of who they are, and being self-critical.
The 2nd struggles with ADHD, indecisiveness, following through on goals, feeling disorganized, talking compulsively, racing thoughts, having too many ideas, and being perfectionistic to a fault.
The 3rd group I work with are fathers or husbands. They may have difficulties controlling their emotions, connecting with their partner or children in a meaningful way, or communicating their thoughts and feelings in a way that's honest and empathetic.
Every client I see is unique and not everything listed always applies, but if you see yourself in any of these groups then I encourage you to keep reading.

Do you long for balance amid this chaotic world? Do you struggle in managing your relationships, work, and emotional and/or physical health? My approach cultivates empowerment through compassionate support. I begin by learning about you and your worldview. I believe that you are the expert of your life and that within you, resides the inherent capacity to find your way through the most difficult of circumstances. It is my perspective that we often just need a bit of assistance in cultivating that path. My role as a therapist is to help facilitate the growth and change process by developing a relationship in the context of a nurturing and supportive environment.
I received my Bachelor of Science from the Pennsylvania State University in 2010 where I focused my studies on human development across the lifespan. My Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work was obtained from The Ohio State University in 2012. With more than 13 years of extensive career experience as a psychotherapist and in the field of behavioral health, I have come to one solid conclusion: The path toward healing is not so much about becoming anything. Often, it is about unbecoming everything that isn’t you, so that you can be who you were truly meant to be in the first place.

Sometimes you just can't.
You have been trying so hard for so long but you feel like a failure. You just don't adult like other people.
This can show up looking like Anxiety, Depression or even stuff like OCD or Social Anxiety symptoms.
Often this pain relates to trauma. It could be a history of very serious abuse with PTSD or just painful life experiences you assumed were not such a big deal.
This is where I can help. I love to use my skills to help people who are struggling with emotional pain and daily life struggles. I want you to see yourself and the world in a new way. To stop experiencing days that feel like a dumpster fire. To feel hopeful about your life. To feel safe.To accept your imperfections and like yourself anyhow.
When we work together it probably won't be like other therapy you have tried.

I've been through a lot in my life. Most of you have too. After all, you find yourself here looking for something.
It is my firm belief that each and every one of us has tremendous potential. We all have unique talents and skills, honed and sharpened through our life experiences. These experiences, while crucial to shaping us, can also leave us hurt, confused, numb, or insecure. It is paramount that we stop along our journey to take stock, address our needs, heal, and refocus. Sometimes, we realize we may benefit from having extra support or guidance through these moments. That is where therapy can help.
Throughout my counseling career, I have had the privilege of being able to walk beside clients as they process the past, learn to be comfortable in the present, and get excited for the future. I am certified in trauma and DBT, and treat clients with a wide range of concerns. Whether you feel ready to dive into therapy, or you are just contemplating the idea, I'd love to hear from you.

Do you struggle with anxiety, depression and life in general? You have been dealing with stress for so long and you feel like you need to talk to someone. If you are overwhelmed, lost and feeling down, I would like to talk to you about how therapy can benefit you.
I use a person-centered, empowerment-focused approach. I believe everyone has strengths and potential to emerge on the other side, given unconditional positive regard. I will provide you with tools to cope with these thoughts and feelings. I would like to empower YOU to find their voice, appreciate their needs and know that their needs and feelings do matter.
I specialize in complex PTSD, trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship issues and women's issues. I practice culturally responsive treatment, and intersectionality guides my practice. "I have been blessed to work with Risa as a client since 2020. I came to Risa as a neurodivergent patient who was struggling with undiagnosed anxiety and depression. These conditions were unidentified and unmanaged for most of my adult life, and they started to negatively impact my overall health, personal life, career, and quality of life.
Risa is one of the most compassionate, detail-oriented, and supportive medical professionals I have ever met. Whenever I am mentally or emotionally struggling, Risa is always there to help me work through the tough times with kind and positive regard. She connects with her clients uniquely and specially. She displays a natural abiity to make patients feel comfortable and safe.
Risa has exceptional skills as a therapist. She displays special counseling abilities: helping clients see their inner social and emotional strengths, encouraging self-awareness, and educating clients on tools and strategies that can empower them to reach their full potential.
On a personal level, Risa can understand my unique experience of being part of an immigrant family and the ancestral trauma attached to that. It has been a gift to collaborate with Risa on my mental health and achieve a better balance overall in my life. I highly recommend her services to prospective clients who are seeking counseling and a supportive professional!"

Maria is very understanding and supportive of my issues. Listens and gives me tools to cope with certain situations.
--L.I.·Jun 16, 2022
Maria knows exactly what to say and what questions to ask. She has me thinking deeply about my situation and decisions are becoming easier and clearer.
--L.I.·Jun 10, 2022
Maria is an excellent listener and pushes me to conquer my anxieties in life. As well as helps me to understand my emotions.
--M.A.·Feb 08, 2022
Maria has been a blessing and a feeling of stability I could not be more grateful for in such a turbulent point in my life. She is very respectful and always listens. I know she’s a great listener because she provides insightful opinions, advice, and something I think is undervalued normally, validation. She doesn’t make you feel judged and is someone who is Team: your well-being. I couldn’t recommend her more especially to someone who might be coming to therapy for the first time since that kind of vulnerability can be scary.
--A.L.·Dec 02, 2021
Maria is very attentive to your personal issues and offers very professional and sound advice. I am grateful to have her as my therapist.
--J.O.·Oct 21, 2021
Maria was very helpful in my situation; this was my first experience with therapy and I wasn't sure what to expect but we hit the ground running and I was able to make really good progress right away. I struggled with setting boundaries and how to better communicate with my loved ones - this is a source of anxiety for me. Maria listens and really understands what I'm going through. She set me up with great worksheets and helped me start to be more reflecting and proactive to work through tough situations. With her help, I was able to make some realizations and she coached me on how to set healthy boundaries and helped me understand the different types of boundaries. Maria was easy to talk to because you can tell she cares and respects how you feel. Thanks again for your help!!
--C.O.·Sep 28, 2021
She is the person who helped me a lot. A very nice soul.
--A.A.·Sep 23, 2021
Maria takes the time to really listen and understand your problems. She is comforting and gives great insight into tools you can use to better understand your emotions and process them.

My goal through therapy is to process current and past experiences in order to grow and identify how they impact the present and future.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have experience in various levels of care including outpatient, in-school, and partial hospitalization. Hello. I'm James and I appreciate that you are considering me to be your therapist. The decision to begin therapy for the first time or with a new treatment professional requires strength, courage and commitment. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship issues, financial pressures, addiction or any other obstacle that prevents you from living the life that you want, finding the right therapist for you is an important part of getting yourself back to where you would like to be.
I have experienced a variety of obstacles in my own life and personally understand how the therapeutic process can help change your life. This is my second career. While working in manufacturing at a pharmaceutical company, and being a full-time single-parent, I completed my education over a number of years and began working part-time in the field several years prior to my retirement from the pharmaceutical industry in 2012.
I have worked with groups, individuals, and couples in a variety of settings. To me, this career is a calling for which my collective life experiences have prepared me. My Masters degrees are in Psychological Counseling, Addictions Counseling and Industrial/Organizational Psychology. I very much appreciate the uniqueness of each individual and have worked with people from a number of different cultures, religions and lifestyle orientations. In my own life, I strive for continual personal growth and to nurture my mind body and spirit.
Should you decide to work with me, I will help you to appreciate your strengths and to build on the courage and commitment that brought you to seek changes in your life. My goal is always to help you to find ways to be happy in your life and do it in ways that work for you. If you're willing to do the work, your life WILL get better.

I am a professional counselor licensed in Pennsylvania and I do mainly psychodynamic, person-centered therapy. By this I mean I work on a deeper level to explore causes and underlying patterns of presenting problems and also working to ease one's resistance. I believe you as client are the most expert about what you think and feel, and can help offer validation and an outside perspective on your situation.
I have a background in Gestalt Therapy as well as modern Psychoanalysis, which have contributed to my approach in that they see the person as an organic self, physical, mental, and emotional.

Fulfilling our potential is a lifelong journey of becoming more at peace with ourselves, deepening the intimacy in our relationships, being more authentically human, and feeling more alive each day. Along the way, certain challenges arise to cause us distress or confusion. Such moments can make us feel held back, afraid, or unsure of where to go from here. But these moments can also be the points of growth and healing from which we renew ourselves in ways we did not think possible.
It is a great privilege helping men and women in their search to improve their relationship with themselves and others, to lessen the burden of emotional pain, to experience freedom from addictions, or to embark on new life challenges - to find the hope and courage needed to take those important next steps.

I am a licensed psychologist with many years of experience in cognitive behavioral therapy. I have had success using CBT to treat anxiety, panic, anger issues, insomnia, and chronic pain. Treatment is goal oriented, skill based, and backed by research.
I think that it is very important to learn to judge yourself and the world less harshly. I believe that our unrealistic thoughts and expectations are major contributors to our discontent. I have found that some of the concepts of Eastern and Stoic philosophy can help put our lives into better perspective.
I particularly like the aspects of psychology that are based on science. As a field, we know a lot about how people learn and how early experience shapes our current moods and behavior. I also like to incorporate current ideas in neurology and physiology that support behavior change.
