New to Grow
I offer direct, compassionate, and supportive feedback so that so that you can explore your individual challenges & how you envision your ideal life. I always respect & encourage the individuality of every person's life story. We’ll work together to explore your potential for change, growth, and healing in a supportive & collaborative environment. I've treated people struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, addiction, & people struggling with difficult life transitions. I enjoy helping people to navigate through transitional and/or quarter life crises. I have experience as a trauma & crisis counselor. I offer compassionate, direct feedback, & I often use humor in my practice.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session will be the start of getting to know each other! You can expect me to ask lots of questions about what's bringing you to therapy though I don't expect you to always have the answers! Sometimes therapy is about processing past issues, sometimes we'll focus on day to day stressors. In our first session I will address all confidentiality, billing, and office policies.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with 10 years of experience. I’ve worked with all kinds of unique people with unique needs. I utilize a few modalities including DBT & CBT tools and Gottman & EFT techniques for couples. I approach all care from a trauma-informed lens. I believe the most important part of change is the strong client-therapist connection. I am also a therapist who isn’t afraid to use humor, especially when it can feel like laughing is all we can do.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
Are there times you feel stuck or overwhelmed with anxiety, depression, past trauma and pain, or tough life transitions? If you imagine living with less worry, anxiety, or emotional ups and downs, we can work together to explore and achieve realistic goals. I will always focus on creating collaborative goals and checking in frequently to ensure we're on the right track. I like to draw on a few modalities to shape our sessions. I find value in structured sessions though I also recognize when just listening, validating, and empathetic discussion is most valuable.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I often use DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) in my practice to help you set and achieve solid goals for emotional wellness. In our first session, I will take time to explain how DBT might benefit you and answer any questions you have. In addition to DBT, I like to utilize a Humanistic approach; in other words, empathic, supportive conversation to explore who you are & who you want to be.
