I want to help you flourish! I truly believe that when individuals strive to be the best versions of themselves they can have a significant impact in the world. I want to help you be the best version of yourself so that you can live confidently and be able to succeed regardless of what life throws your way. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor in Connecticut and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Rhode Island. I have been practicing as a therapist for more than 6 years and I love working with teenagers and adults of any age.
I believe that developing a solid therapeutic relationship is foundational to positive treatment outcomes. During our first session, I want to get to know you personally while also listening attentively to why you're coming in for therapy. It can be hard to open up and be vulnerable with a new therapist and I do what I can to create a safe and comfortable space for you to be as honest as you'd like to be during our first session.
My number one superpower as a therapist is my ability to listen. A close second would be my ability to help my clients feel comfortable by creating a nonjudgemental space for clients to be honest about whatever is going on in their lives. I also welcome any feedback over the course of therapy as it sometimes can take some trial and error to figure out what methods work best for clients to reach their treatment plan goals.
Members of our social network have a great capacity to either positively or negatively affect our mental health. I'll work with you to build healthy boundaries in difficult relationships and I will support you to invest in healthier ones.
Religious practices (such as prayer) can greatly support your treatment goals. Regardless of your faith background, I want to support healthy religious practices that your faith offers that can contribute positively to your mental health. As an aspiring priest in the Anglican Church, I also have personal experience and knowledge of established Christian practices that you might want to use in treatment.
There's no wonder why CBT is one of the most commonly used treatment methods in therapy. Accurately assessing and challenging unhelpful ways of thinking can do wonders towards reducing your mental health symptoms. I've used this treatment modality with many clients and have seen great results!
Need coping skills or creative solutions for stressful problems? I'd love to help! I enjoy using Solutions Focused therapy to help clients with all sorts of issues, including unwanted behaviors (e.g., addictions, OCD behaviors, etc.).
Need someone to just listen, be compassionate, and encourage you? Sometimes clients, especially those who have been in therapy for a while, know what they need to do in order to address their mental health needs and all they need is someone to support them. I'm here for you!
