Thank you for taking time to learn a little about me. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Addictions Professional with over 25 years of counseling experience in clinical, private and educational settings. I practice Client-centered therapy. For those who are unfamiliar with Client-centered therapy it is based on the practice that the CLIENT is best able to decide what to explore and mark as a goal of treatment. I empower all my clients without compromising empathy. Whatever the reason any individual, couple, or family comes to me, I challenge their skillset to solve problems and restore resolve; not simply provide short-term solutions. The first step to achieve this is to build a rapport with essential empathy and unconditional positive regard. I believe in relationships. Seems a little elementary but one's physical, mental, and overall wellness is dependent on relations that we have with each other. No matter how large or small one's family is, and/or social circle we were all meant to establish and grow relationships. No level of true self-reflection would escape this fact. I witnessed this to be true in all of my clients as with myself. I currently reside Central Florida with my wife, son, and three daughters. As a family we enjoy an active lifestyle supportive of one another and the family dynamic. I welcome the opportunity to work with you, feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

As a clinician whose practice and vision was shaped by living in and serving in the community where she worked, I was attuned to the challenges, obstacles, nuances, and vibrancy of the needs of the community as well as the difficulties in accessing care. Today, I reach individuals in Florida, South Carolina, Alabama, Marlyand, New Jersey and New York! My cultural, linguistic, and gendered experiences helped in better understanding of the cultural norms, roles, expectations, and life complexities of my clients. As a bilingual, bicultural, Latinx, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Therapist, Healer and Life Coach, with over 9 years of experience, I have dedicated my practice to working with men, women and children, centering wholeness with an intersectional approach to understanding the situation–the Who, What, Where, When and How. In session, you will experience authenticity, empathy and humor as I bring a humanistic approach to each session.

Hello! My name is Jeremy Brown! Has it been difficult and tough sometimes to talk to others like family and friends? Do you feel like people around you are not listening or hearing you when you speak? Do you struggle with self-compassion and self-gratitude? Have you always turned to other means to cope when stressed such as alcohol or other substances? I help individuals who are struggling with all the above and work side by side with you to formulate a healthier way to communicate and get to the root of your problems. I do so through the use of cognitive behavioral therapy which aims at changing the way we think and view various situations as well as solution focused therapy and strengths based techniques to show you that your are capable and strong to overcome. If you also struggle with substance abuse, I have 3 years of experience helping individuals suffering with alcohol, cannabis and stimulant use disorder find healthier ways to cope with issues than with the use of substances. I want to applaud you for taking the first step in your recovery and healing, this can all feel scary at first but you are on your way to healthier version of yourself! In our upcoming sessions together, I will meet you with compassion and empathy and take a collaborative approach to help you overcome any obstacle in your way. I look forward to working with you!

Biography: I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I facilitate the spiritual, mental and emotional healing process through talk therapy. The focus of most of my adult life has been to be a skilled helper to people in need. As I moved through my theological training, I realized that, often, others needed deeper support than "church" alone could give. I pursued further education to become a clinical counselor to meet those needs. I have worked in a variety of clinical settings including, outpatient community mental health, inpatient/outpatient substance abuse/addiction, sex offender therapy in the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, mental health professional in the Florida Department of Corrections, inpatient and day treatment of chronically mentally ill, and private practice. I believe my gift, in the counseling relationship, is that I help others see things for themselves. I also have a Christian world view which informs my interaction with others. I am a compassionate, non judgmental, "Wounded healer". Yes, I have had to negotiate life's struggles like anyone else. So, it is not just an academic exercise with me. I offer compassionate support while we work through your mental health issues including, depression, anxiety, stress, anger, fear, grief, loss, codependency, and self esteem issues.

As beautiful and wonderful as my life is now…This wasn’t always the case. I experienced devastating loss after losing my mother to Cancer at the tender age of 16 and became a mother myself just prior to my 18th birthday. And that's not it, I've lost jobs, money, friendships and went through major disappointment from unmet expectations from people... I lost myself....and I didn't know who I was outside of being a mother, an employee, a college student and a caretaker for several family members. I was emotionally drained, overwhelmed and confused about where my life was going. My personal journey of healing consisted of my faith, personal development books and workshops, therapy, supportive friends, and, later, clinical training in how to effectively process and handle emotional distress. You know those life events that come and threaten your very existence and sanity? My journey led me right into purpose..... My life’s purpose…… is to awaken, inspire, and teach women how to connect with their emotions and build a healthy new relationship with themselves. To awaken you to your potential, inspire you , give you hope and teach you a practical approach to healing from the inside out. My expertise…I received my clinical training from Capella University and earned a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. The most important takeaway from my formal education was the realization that building a trusting and genuine relationship with my clients and meeting them where they are is the best foundation for accelerating the healing process. I utilize a powerful intervention called Internal Family Systems (IFS), in which I am Level 2 trained and pursuing certification. IFS achieves mental wellness by teaching you how to understand the different parts of you and lead from your core inner self.

Finding a therapist you can identify with, feeling heard & accepted can be a challenging feat. Therapists are not one size fits all. We are people with problems, just like you. I offer you over 20 years of experience in the mental health and substance abuse treatment world. I have an undergraduate degree in psychology (2001) and a graduate degree (2006) in professional counseling. With working 10 of those years in a hospital setting, I also have a decent handle on possible medical issues you might need to be referred for. After more life experience, I became a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2016 and opened my private practice. I can't tell you all the answers to life's problems, but together we can come to what the best decision will be for you in particular. Your goals and values are worth exploring. Your likes and dislikes matter. Your happiness is not selfish.

To others it may seem like you've got it all together, but on the inside you're spinning out of control. Panic randomly punches you in the chest, taking your breath away, and you can't focus on anything else other than how to make it stop. You are consumed by trying to keep up with everyone else since they seem to have it all together, but you can barely function through the day. You feel like an awful mom because you are lashing out on your kids and hating the daily monotony instead of "embracing the joy of motherhood." You feel like you are failing your partner because somewhere along this journey you just lost yourself. You want to be a better mom to your kids. And remember why you fell in love with your partner. And stop the tornado of anxiety that knocks you out on the regular. You want to stop living by the expectations of others and rediscover who you truly are. It's time to win back some peace of mind and self-worth and attract the life you want. I have the DBT and mindfulness skills, which uses both mind and body exercises that will help you manage the crippling anxiety, love yourself better, be a more present and joyful mom, improve your relationships, and attract the life you want.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida and a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional with private practice and outpatient setting experience. I have spent several years supporting professionals in their career development and have a passion for professional coaching with the use of Motivational Interviewing techniques. My experience is in helping clients who lack purpose, experience stress and anxiety, relationship issues, low motivation, low self-esteem and challenges with confidence, as well as career difficulties. I am a professional woman of color and have navigated through the dynamics of the corporate world. In my own experience, I have learned to heavily lean on more holistic approaches that have resulted in long-term changes in my view of the world and in the way I approach life's challenges. One of the biggest takeaways from our work together will hopefully be the understanding and acceptance that life's journey comes with "peaks and valleys" and how we respond to these will greatly influence our perspective of the self and how we show up for others and to the world we live in. I believe that you are the expert on your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming your challenges. My goal is to ensure that we deeply explore your values and those strengths and help you recognize them to then identify your desires from counseling and work to that end. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process!

Hi my name is Amy, and I first want to acknowledge how difficult and scary it feels to begin the process of therapy, either for the first time or starting with a new therapist. I take very seriously the enormous strength that takes and I work very hard to ensure that you feel safe and heard as we begin the therapeutic relationship. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with 15 years of experience providing counseling in both inpatient and outpatient centers. I received my Master’s degree in counseling in 2008, from Webster University. I had the privilege of working in an inpatient eating disorder facility for five years and have continued that work in outpatient settings. I have a passion for connecting with teenagers and building a safe place with an adult where they can voice their feelings and experiences without fear of judgement. I also especially enjoy working with young adult women as they navigate their way through the process of beginning adulthood. I have experience with a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and general women’s issue. I am especially passionate about working with CPTSD and PTSD. I have received training and supervision in working with trauma as it is a highly specialized field. Trauma survivors need validation, belief, compassion and acceptance first and foremost before a trusting relationship can be established. I have working with women exiting a toxic relationship, having endured narcissistic abuse and/or infidelity (betrayal trauma) which is many times misunderstood by well-intentioned people. My approach is warm, compassionate and highly empathetic as I work to establish a safe environment for healing to take place.

My name is Mary Vaughan and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor for the state of Florida. I have been in the mental health business for 35+ years. I love my work and that is the reason have stayed in it as long as I have. I am a military brat and I have moved around in Europe and many states. Before I begin to work with a client, I tell them some of my background. It is my opinion that the client should know something about his/her counselor before we begin our work. I have had very successful results working with people who suffer from some kind of abuse ( either in childhood or as a young adult.) If abuse has occurred at most any age, the individual may come to me and tell me that they are experincing stress, depression, anxiety and/or panic attacks. Before beginning counseling, I inform the client that we will have a questioning and answer process. This allows the client and me to get to know each other a little better. Based on the information I gather about my client, we discuss what the client wants from their sessions. The individual and I work together as a team. In this process, the client gains a sense of self-esteem and a sense of control over their lives going forward in the future. Finding the right "fit" of counselor and client is key to a successful experience for the client. After the counselor gives the client some unique coping skills, the counselor asks the client if these skills might work for them. These coping skills are "Fluid" and can be modified and changed as we proceed in the counseling process.

Bilingual licensed mental therapist with over 18 years of experience in the field; specializing in adolescents and adults. Earned a master's in clinical counseling from Messiah University and a master's in liberal studies from Alvernia University. Additionally, I completed a bachelor's degree in criminal justice studies. My career in the helping field started in 1999 when I worked at a youth detention center and refugee facility. Since then, I have gain experienced in various mental health settings, including outpatient therapy, multi-systemic therapy in homes/schools-with teens and their families, worked in a jail for two years as therapist, experience working with individuals suffering with psychotic disorders, as well as, worked with teen violence and with teens struggling with truancy. Throughout these experiences, my observations were focused on the lack of compassion and empathy there was in the field for individuals seeking help; this was my main motivator for starting my own practice-with the goal of providing people with the care they deserve.
