Hi, I’m Jose, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who is deeply passionate about supporting individuals through life’s challenges. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Florida International University in 2019 and became licensed in 2022. I have several years of experience in community mental health, working with children, adolescents, and families, as well as providing crisis intervention for individuals at high risk of psychiatric hospitalization. I also work with adults navigating work-related stress, financial strain, PTSD, and trauma connected to their careers. My therapeutic approach is collaborative and client-centered, drawing from evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and strengths-based interventions. I strive to create a warm, safe, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to heal, grow, and create lasting positive change.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, my goal is to create a welcoming, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you feel comfortable sharing your story at your own pace. I enjoy getting to know my clients because we are all the main characters in the stories of our lives, and I look forward to learning more about yours. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, explore what you hope to gain from our work together, and begin identifying goals and a plan tailored to your needs. My hope is that you leave the session feeling heard, supported, and encouraged about the journey ahead.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I believe in meeting clients where they are and making sure therapy feels supportive, relevant, and effective. I truly want this process to feel meaningful, so I take time to understand your unique experiences and adapt my approach to best match your needs, goals, and comfort level. I view therapy as a collaborative journey, where your voice and feedback matter, and I work intentionally to create a space where you feel understood, respected, and empowered to grow at your own pace.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with clients who are motivated to make meaningful changes in their lives but may feel uncertain, overwhelmed, or unsure about where to begin. Many of the individuals I support are navigating stress, transitions, or challenges that have started to feel difficult to manage on their own. My approach is collaborative and client-centered, focused on meeting you where you are, helping you feel understood, and working together to identify realistic and achievable goals. I strive to support clients in building resilience, strengthening self-confidence, and developing healthier coping strategies that feel practical and sustainable. Whether you are seeking clarity, emotional support, or tools to navigate life more effectively, I aim to walk alongside you as you move toward growth and positive change at a pace that feels right for you.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as one of my main treatment approaches because I believe we are capable of adjusting how we perceive situations, which in turn influences how we feel and act. I strive in supporting clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, challenge them, and replace them with healthier perspectives. Through this process, clients learn practical coping skills and strategies they can apply outside of sessions, allowing them to manage stress, reduce anxiety and depression, and build long-term resilience.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a powerful tool that I implement to help clients explore their own values, goals, and motivations for change. I believe that each person already has the capacity for growth within them, and my role is to create a supportive and collaborative space where ambivalence can be resolved. By using open-ended questions, reflective listening, and affirmations, I guide clients in strengthening their confidence and commitment to positive change. This approach empowers clients to take ownership of their progress, whether they are working on managing stress, building healthier habits, or navigating life transitions.
