New to Grow
I am a clinical mental health counselor licensed in Maryland and Florida. The connection I make with clients is the most important aspect of my practice. I offer a kind, open, nonjudgmental environment that is welcoming to everyone. My style is calm, but upbeat; gentle, but firm; and always authentic. I am here to help you make sense of what you are going through and identify a path through it. I believe that you are the expert of your life. It is my job to walk with you as you find your own way.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other in a safe, supportive space. We’ll spend time talking about what brought you to counseling, what you’re hoping for, and any questions or concerns you may have about the process. There is no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with—this is your time and your pace. My goal is to listen, understand your experiences, and begin working with you to identify meaningful goals for therapy, so we can move toward the changes and healing you are seeking.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
What often stands out about my approach is the genuine care and respect I have for the people I work with. I believe that every person and couple deserves to be seen, heard, and understood without judgment. In our work together, I focus on creating a space where you can show up exactly as you are, knowing that you will be met with warmth, compassion, and sincere positive regard. I also have had an unusually wide range of personal experiences, which help me to connect with and relate to almost everyone.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work with couples and individuals who are tired of feeling stuck, and are ready to make positive changes in their lives. Whether you are struggling with anxiety/depression, relationship issues, childhood trauma, grief and loss, anger management, or LGBTQIA+ issues, there is hope that things will get better for you. My goal is to not only address your underlying symptoms, but to heal your heart. I understand that therapy can be an uncomfortable and sometimes frightening experience, so I do everything I can do to be a steady source of support throughout the process.
Eclectic
I practice a range of treatment methods, including humanistic therapy, emotionally focused individual therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, internal family systems, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and emotionally focused therapy for couples. This helps me to tailor treatment to each client's presenting problem and circumstances.
