Hello!
I'm Jim, and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, licensed in both Florida and Connecticut. I'd like to support you in building the life you imagine!
Life can be happy, joyous, and fulfilling. However, life can also be challenging at times. Challenges may involve external situations which we're currently facing, they may be internal struggles involving our feelings and thoughts, or both. During these challenging times, it is often beneficial to work with an empathetic, supportive, and knowledgeable therapist who will assist you in taking the steps necessary to deal with such challenges effectively and move forward with your life.
I have 14 years of experience as a therapist working with adolescents, adults, and seniors dealing with a variety of issues. I have worked as a therapist in a nonprofit outpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment agency, treating clients with depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders. As a primary therapist in an inpatient substance abuse treatment facility, I have supported clients as they begin their journeys of sobriety and recovery. I have also assisted patients and family members facing end-of-life issues as a home hospice social worker.
Past 30 years, I have been fortunate with children, tweens, teens, adults, couples, families. In our therapy conversations my patients have comfortable, confidential opportunities to talk about their personal journey and what they want to explore, revise, change, and work on emotional concerns that face them today. Our therapy sessions are formatted to support your thoughts, feelings and emotions in a relaxed manner.
I am a licensed clinical social worker. I am a compassionate social worker who is an active listener, who is dedicated to working tirelessly to help you resolve issues and thrive on your own terms. I am trained in cognitive behavioral therapy, situational family therapy, trauma-informed therapy, EMDR, and NLP I also have experience in grief and bereavement counseling. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, with mindfulness.
At the heart of my practice is the idea that "we're all walking each other home." This guides how I show up with clients—as a fellow traveler who is committed to creating a space where you are safe, supported, and valued. I have extensive experience in grief and loss, whether from the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, or the loss of a beloved animal companion. I also have experience working with individuals living with acute or chronic illness, as well as with those recovering from addiction or substance use disorder. Additionally, I support caregivers with their own unique challenges.
“Between stimulus and response, there is a space; within that space lies your power and freedom…”
Here’s the thing; we’re all basically the same- but then again, not. Our reactions (to unexpected events, comments, public scrutiny) can vary, depending on our nature, personality, character and whether or not we’ve had breakfast. While the last part was just to get your attention, I’m committed to understanding what makes YOU “tick” and why you respond the way you do. That, in and of itself may be fascinating, but my true intention is to get you back on track, help you find your footing and become laser-focused & confident, regardless of your circumstances!
A bit about me: A native New Yorker, I acquired my MSW following a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from CCNY. Essentially, I view myself as a scientist and life coach, a motivator who recognizes that we’re ALL unique individuals, but do share many of the same thoughts & feelings. Most of us have struggled with anxiety, uncertainty and self-doubt; yet we’ve also experienced feeling confident, grounded and secure at one time or another. Then something happened and our self-esteem took a hit; there were setbacks.
Bear in mind, our backgrounds and early childhood experiences, our genetic predispositions all serve to shape our personalities and the essence of our being. To that end, as a clinician, I strive to guide individuals to examine their beliefs- in order to gain insight into their potentially self-destructive behavior- or whatever is getting in the way of their progress. Together, we’ll explore what’s influenced your self-concept and self-esteem. The saying that always resonated with me, “If you think you can, or you think you can’t- you’re right…” Life can feel overwhelming & insurmountable, but with the right tools, the sky’s the limit- whatever you’re facing!
I am a licensed clinical social worker with 5 years of clinical experience supporting individuals with significant behavioral and mental health difficulties.
I have experience working with adolescents and adults with eating disorders in PHP and IOP settings, children with behavioral health challenges in a residential setting, and adults who are dually diagnosed with mental health and substance use disorders in an outpatient setting.
As a provider I am committed to bringing all of my clinical experience and an open mind to each session to work with every individual in all of their uniqueness.
I provide individualized, compassionate mental health care in a safe and nonjudgmental space. I work with individuals, couples, and families facing a wide range of challenges, and I strive to create an environment where you feel comfortable being open and understood.
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Adelphi University in 2007 and completed my Master’s Degree in 2008 through their Advanced Standing Program. I became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Connecticut in 2011.
I have also completed specialized training through the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP) in the areas of sex, love, and pornography addiction, including the impact on both the individual and their partner.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of experience working with adolescents, adults, and families. A significant focus of my practice is supporting boys, young men, and parents.
My work is grounded in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and CBT, with a practical, goal-oriented style that tends to resonate well with clients who are skeptical of therapy or unsure where to start. I also teach graduate social work at Fordham University, keeping my practice connected to current research and evidence-based frameworks.
Lorraine Gonzalez, LCSW‑R, brings over two decades of expertise in clinical work, evidence-based programming, policy development, and nonprofit leadership. As the founder of Therapeutic Pathways, she offers thoughtful, individualized support that guides people toward greater clarity, emotional balance, and meaningful relief. Her approach reflects a deep commitment to helping clients navigate challenges with compassion and confidence, while validating client strengths.
Are you wondering if your drug or alcohol use is becoming a problem? Do you know that it is a problem, but cannot seem to control it? I am experienced in working with a range of substance use issues, from mild to severe, as well as process or behavioral addictions, such as addictions to sex, shopping, pornography, food, and people. Effective psychotherapy can include helping limit your use and minimize its consequences, or complete abstinence, and an assessment if medication such as Suboxone, Methadone, or Vivitrol is right for you.
I’m a relational, insight-oriented therapist who believes meaningful change happens when we slow down enough to understand what’s really driving our patterns. I work with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, identity shifts, and relationship dynamics, especially those who function well on the outside but feel tangled or overwhelmed internally.
My approach is psychodynamic and collaborative. Together, we look at the emotional themes and internal narratives shaping your current struggles, not just to analyze them, but to help you move through life with more clarity, flexibility, and self-trust.
Hi there, my name is Emily and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in CT and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in IL who works with adolescents and adults using a variety of theoretical perspectives in individual, family and group therapy sessions. I have over twelve years of clinical experience in a variety of environments including outpatient, inpatient, community, and in-home settings.
I specialize in working with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and clients of all ages who have experienced varying types of emotional, physical, and sexual abuse. This experience has helped to expand my clinical areas of expertise such as stress and anxiety reduction, management of depressive and mood symptoms, harm reduction and substance abuse, and symptoms/risk behaviors associated with personality and attachment disorders. Additionally, I have worked within the foster care system providing both individual and family therapy services to children, adolescents, and guardians.
I incorporate an array of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and solution-focused interventions into my treatment approach. In my extensive work with anxiety disorders and effects of trauma, I have frequently utilized DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) techniques, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), and other interventions which focus on the psychosomatic manifestation of mental suffering in the body. I am motivated to help clients integrate past experiences into their current identity to increase insight in such a way as to make progress toward personal goals.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York and Connecticut, providing psychotherapy to adults aged 18 and older, in person in Pleasantville NY, or through telehealth. I work with individuals who are motivated to make a change in their life, who seek help to reduce their depression, anxiety or stress; this includes individuals navigating any sort of life transition that is having an impact on their daily functioning, mood or emotional stability. Using a person-centered and collaborative approach, we would work to identify your individual needs, values, and how to practice self care while experiencing whatever circumstances life brings. I believe that therapy is most effective when it is a partnership—one where we work together to identify goals, explore challenges, and build on existing strengths.
I am licensed in Connecticut with 4 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, depression, LGBTQ+ related issues, family conflicts, & parenting issues. Additionally, I hold experience working with children and adolescents with behavioural and mental health concerns.
I take a person-centred approach in which I believe that you know yourself best and can make positive changes. My role is to guide you on the way. I also utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to assist in challenging unhealthy thought patterns and to promote the regulation of emotions. Seeking out help can be the hardest part of making changes and I am proud of you for taking that step! I look forward to working with you.
Additional areas of focus for my practice include Autism Spectrum Disorder, Domestic Violence, Family Problems, Gender Dysphoria, Isolation / Loneliness, Money and Financial Issues, Mood Disorders, Obsessions, Compulsions, and OCD, Panic Disorder and Panic Attacks, Polyamory / Nonmonogamous Relationships, Self-Harm, Sexuality, Social Anxiety and Phobia, Workplace Issues, and Young Adult Issues.
We all have fundamental needs: To belong, to feel understood, to give and receive love, to feel financially secure, to be free from pain. My approach to therapy begins with addressing the impetus that led to scheduling that first appointment, to then addressing core basic needs like sleep, nutrition and social connections. We will work to develop an awareness into emotional states and behaviors that arise out of them. Sometimes, it is the actions of others that are the primary source of our own distress. Even then, we can focus on what is in our control to improve our coping and circumstances.
While I work with people of many backgrounds and areas of concern, please note I particularly specialize working with individuals and their caregivers on issues surrounding serious illness, fertility/infertility, onco-survivorship, and postpartum support and am accepting new clients with these concerns.
Welcome

I’ve always been interested in understanding people — how life experiences, relationships, stress, and challenges shape the way we cope and move through the world. Over time, I realized I found a lot of meaning in helping people work through obstacles, gain perspective, and feel less stuck in the things weighing them down. I know it can be hard to ask for support, especially when you’ve been trying to manage everything on your own. I want clients to feel comfortable being honest about what they’re facing while also working together to find practical, concrete solutions that help life feel more manageable and move them toward meaningful, lasting change.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and my Master’s degree in Social Work with a clinical focus from Capella University. Over the past 14 years, I have worked with children, teens, adults, couples, and families across in-home, outpatient, and telehealth settings. I’ve supported people through some of the most difficult periods of their lives, including severe anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship struggles, family conflict, crisis situations, and overwhelming life stress. Working in a variety of settings and with diverse client needs has taught me how to meet people where they are, adapt to challenging situations, and help clients find realistic ways to move forward.
I see therapy as a place to be real about what’s not working and figure out what needs to change. Some clients come in feeling emotionally exhausted, disconnected in relationships, overwhelmed by responsibilities, or frustrated by patterns they can’t seem to break. My role is to help people make sense of what they’re experiencing, develop practical tools that actually fit their lives, and regain a stronger sense of control, stability, and confidence moving forward.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) with a decade of clinical experience supporting individuals through some of life's most difficult challenges. I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Professional Counseling from Central Connecticut State University, with specialized training in addictions recovery, mental health, and rehabilitation.
Throughout my career, I have worked with a wide range of clients across diverse and often high-stakes settings. Most recently, I spent seven years as a Licensed Professional Counselor at Garner Correctional Institution, providing individual counseling, group therapy, and crisis intervention to justice-involved adults navigating complex mental health needs, trauma, and reentry challenges. Prior to that, I served as an Outpatient Therapist at Farrell Treatment Center, where I helped establish a new Intensive Outpatient Program and delivered trauma-informed, gender-responsive care to individuals struggling with substance use and co-occurring disorders. My earlier work with the Brain Injury Alliance of Connecticut and the Hospital for Special Care deepened my understanding of how neurological, behavioral, and emotional health intersect.
I work with men, women, teenagers, and young adults of any gender, race, religious background, or sexual orientation who are open to learning new skills and committed to meaningful goals in therapy. Clients often come to me seeking support with anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, life transitions, relationship challenges, and the lasting effects of adverse life experiences. Hi, I'm Ashley, a Licensed Professional Counselor and Reiki II practitioner. I believe that somewhere underneath the anxiety, the self-doubt, and the patterns that keep repeating, there is a version of you that already knows the way. My job isn't to fix you. It's to create a space steady enough that you can actually hear yourself. Together we get curious about the thoughts that won't quiet down, the emotions that feel bigger than the moment, the behaviors that keep showing up even when you don't want them to, and what all of it is actually trying to tell you. I utilize a holistic approach, bringing tools into our work that help you understand what's happening in your mind and body when you're overwhelmed, so you can actually do something about it instead of just surviving it. But more than any method or modality, I show up as a real person walking alongside you, trusting that you are the expert on your own life.
As a therapist, my approach is grounded, conversational, and free of judgment. Clients often tell me it feels like talking to someone who “gets it,” while still being guided in a way that creates real change. You don’t have to have the perfect words, the perfect mood, or the perfect version of yourself when you show up. Simply come as you are.

Over the past 10 years, I’ve worked with clients navigating life’s plot twists, anxiety, depression, ADHD, LGBTQ+ identity, and grief, basically all the moments where things don’t go as planned and your brain decides to add commentary. My approach is grounded in both clinical experience and lived experience, including the loss of a baby, being late diagnosed with ADHD, and managing chronic illness, all of which pushed me to learn deeply so I could show up more fully for my clients. I tend to meet people in the messy middle, where things are real, a little complicated, and still very workable.
Hi there, I go by Maddy and I've been working in the field for about 3 years helping clients at the worst points of their lives find a sense of relief from their suffering. I work with a diverse range of clients, ideally those who have a very loud inner critic, want to be more outspoken and advocate for themselves, and those who feel that they aren't cut out for this weird thing called life. I have a particular affinity towards anyone experiencing the above with the added layer of AuDHD. If any of the above speaks to you, please reach out and schedule an intake appointment.
I am passionate about helping high-achieving women and young women (age 16+) who feel overwhelmed by career or academic pressure, anxiety, and expectations to create a more balanced, fulfilling life. I obtained my Bachelor's of Science Degree in Communication from Southern Connecticut University and Masters of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from University of Saint Joseph. I have many years of experience working with individuals and families in inpatient, outpatient, and school mental health treatment. I am dedicated to providing a safe and supportive space for women to enhance their mental well-being. I specialize in anxiety and stress management, self care, relationship issues, career difficulties, academic stress, and life transitions.
Hi, I’m Gwen, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My approach to therapy is honest, compassionate, and grounded in real life. I believe therapy should feel like a space where you can exhale, show up as yourself, and speak openly about what you’re carrying without feeling judged, rushed, or misunderstood.
I work with individuals navigating chronic health conditions, substance use, stress, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, burnout, and the emotional weight that comes with always having to “hold it together.” I also support caregivers and family members managing the emotional strain that can come with loving someone through illness, addiction, mental health challenges, or resistance to care. I understand how overwhelming it can feel when you’re constantly trying to support others while also trying not to lose yourself in the process.
Over the years, I’ve worked closely with individuals and families impacted by homelessness, addiction, unstable support systems, medical challenges, and survival mode living. My style is warm, direct, interactive, and down to earth. I’m not the type of therapist who just sits quietly and nods through the session. I believe therapy should feel like a real conversation with someone who is present, engaged, and genuinely invested in your growth.
In our work together, we’ll focus on understanding patterns, building healthier coping strategies, improving emotional awareness, strengthening boundaries, and creating meaningful change that fits your real life. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, supported, empowered, and better equipped to navigate whatever season of life you’re in.
Hello there, my name is Ian. I specialize in life transitions, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, caregiving (alzheimer's and dementia) and living with early cognitive changes. I also work/have worked with victims of physical/emotional trauma and find that having a strong connection with your therapist is crucial to treatment.
The fact that you are here looking for help, whether it be for you or a loved one is a great first step. I look forward to working with you!

Hello, my name is Kelley Machado, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Connecticut. You may wonder what does Licensed Clinical Social Worker mean, what does that allow me to do? As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker I have the unique opportunity to help people work through various points in their lives. In the years I have been a social worker I have worked with various populations of people from many socioeconomic, cultural, and racial backgrounds as well as people with various presenting concerns. I began my career working in the mental health system, then the criminal justice system, then onto medical social work including various medical issues as well as aging and end of life concerns.
I believe people can experience difficulties with coping whenever faced with a transition in life. These changes can include monumental transitions that are both good or bad, like a new job, new family members, loss, separations, disappointments, traumatic events, etc. These types of experiences can cause psychosocial distress which can have far-reaching impacts on many aspects of our lives. I work with my clients who include children, adults, couples, and families to find healthy coping methods in order to gain a healthier perception of themselves which can help to strengthen their relationships with themselves and others so they can find themselves as comfortable, secure, and whole.
I take time to get to know each of my clients on an individual basis so that I can tailor approaches to care because I have learned that not one approach impacts and helps all clients. I have been trained and adopted many approaches to provide therapeutic support including cognitive-behavioral, attachment theory, developmental theory, trauma theory, and dialectical behavioral theory.
Change is not easy and embarking on change takes a tremendous amount of courage and actions. I congratulate you on your wish, strength, and wisdom for seeking help and taking this first step towards making a change in your life. If you are prepared to move beyond wishes and intentions to action and fulfillment- I am here to empower and support you to achieve your goals. I would love to help you reach your goals, whatever that may be in life so you can move forward
My philosophy as a therapist is to provide a safe, supportive space where clients can explore their experiences, challenges, and hopes while moving toward meaningful change. Rooted in a person-centered approach, I believe therapy should honor each individual’s unique values and strengths, empowering them to take steps that align with their goals. Together, we work to build resilience, foster growth, and create pathways toward a life that feels purposeful, balanced, and worth living.
My name is Elizabeth and I am grateful that you are here. I believe that people are capable of meaningful change, even when life feels overwhelming or when they feel stuck. Reaching out for therapy can be difficult, and I have a lot of respect for the inherent grit it takes to begin this process. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable being yourself, where you can speak openly, feel understood, and explore what’s going on in your life without judgment. I see therapy as a collaborative process. We work together to better understand your experiences, identify patterns that may be holding you back, and discover new ways of moving forward.
I am a compassionate and collaborative therapist dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity, confidence, and emotional balance. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, grief, and major life transitions, using an interpersonal approach that focuses on improving communication, strengthening relationships, and increasing self-awareness. My goal is to create a supportive space where clients feel heard, empowered, and equipped with practical tools to build healthier connections, improve emotional well-being, and create meaningful, lasting change in their lives.
I am a licensed clinical social worker who has worked for the past 8+ years in an outpatient program for mental health and substance use. These years have introduced me to various concerns which include mood dysregulation, anxiety, crisis intervention, family conflict, trauma, substance use and abuse, along with severe mental health symptoms and more. I worked in leadership along with holding a clinical caseload so that I can best support the needs of all that entered the building while also supporting the clinical staff and providing guidance so they can confidently help those in need. We live in a world where people gravitate toward a quick fix, that is obvious with the prevalence of addiction. Working in the substance use field led to me focusing more on holistic approaches. It's important to remind people that there are ways that we can address our own symptoms, feel better and have lasting effects rather than that quick fix. In addition, my graduate school experience was working with children ages 5-18, another passion of mine which I look forward to doing again.
