Hello, and welcome! My name is Alicja, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Connecticut and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida. I have experience working with individuals facing a variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, life stressors, social difficulties, and boundary setting. I also have experience providing therapy to individuals navigating behavioral health and substance use disorders. I utilize evidence-based treatment approaches, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI), to help clients achieve meaningful and lasting change. Throughout my career, I have supported individuals in improving their daily functioning, developing healthier relationships, building effective coping skills, and restoring hope for the future. I believe that therapy is a powerful tool for making positive changes. Together, we will identify your strengths, develop practical coping strategies, and work toward the goals that matter most to you. If you are struggling or simply looking for support during a difficult time, I encourage you to reach out. Taking the first step toward change takes courage and commitment, and I am here to provide support, guidance, and encouragement along the way.
In your first session we will work together to identify your presenting concerns, discuss your goals for therapy, and develop a personalized treatment plan to address your unique needs.
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is the combination of my education and professional experience. I have had the privilege of working with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, cultures, and life experiences, including those navigating mental health and substance use challenges. These experiences have strengthened my ability to provide compassionate and individualized care. I believe that honesty, trust, and mutual respect are the foundation of a successful therapeutic relationship. It is a privilege to walk alongside clients as they share their experiences, explore their challenges, and work toward change. My goal is to empower each client to develop the skills, confidence, and resilience needed to overcome challenges and achieve their personal goals.
I am committed to working with clients who are ready and open to making positive changes in their lives. Taking the first step toward therapy takes courage, and if you are ready to begin, I will be here to support and guide you every step of the way. Many of the clients I work with come to therapy feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, fearful of the unknown, or uncertain about how to move forward. Together, we will identify the challenges you are facing, build on your strengths, and develop practical tools to help you create lasting, meaningful change.
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based treatment approach that has been shown to be effective in addressing a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety disorders, substance use challenges, relationship difficulties, and other mental health concerns. Research has demonstrated that CBT can lead to meaningful improvements in emotional well-being, daily functioning, and overall quality of life. Through CBT, I work collaboratively with clients to identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, develop a deeper understanding of their emotions and behaviors, strengthen problem-solving skills, and learn healthier ways to cope with difficult situations. My goal is to help clients build confidence in their ability to navigate challenges, make meaningful changes, and create a more fulfilling life.
