* I will do house calls! I can do home-based sessions in Middlesex County for perinatal & postpartum moms who have Husky/Medicaid insurance if you prefer. I'm a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Practitioner (PMH-C) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a wide range of expertise. I am a mom of 3 and still learning! It's busy and comes with sacrifices and challenges but fun and filled with opportunities to connect that many of us cannot slow down our lives to cue in on. If you are pregnant, struggling to become pregnant or have given birth and are postpartum, I specialize in helping you through various aspects of this season of receiving. Some themes I see and work with: Life transitions, co-parenting styles/romantic relationships and attachment & bonding w/baby, comparison to others, expectations vs. reality. Some of my patients go through IVF, or are pregnant but feeling off and want to monitor their mental health and prepare a birthing plan. I mostly work closely with women trying to work through things like, breast feeding struggles, NICU trauma, OCD w/ intrusive scary thoughts, mood swings yup-even postpartum rage, traumatic birth experiences and even negative experiences with medical teams causing peri-partum onset of symptoms typically based in anxiety. Just meeting with me is a support, safe space and outlet for you to regain momentum, feel more energized and often I see patients begin to know and experience HOPE.
In our first few sessions I will try to get to know you a little better and I’ll probably ask about your baby, your sleep, your nutrition, how to build in self-care, any supports or barriers. We will talk foundational basics and I probably will ask you how you categorize your birth experience and any symptoms you may be experiencing. We can also touch upon if you have or want tips on your birth plan if pregnant. I try to make you feel comfortable knowing you are in good hands and things WILL be ok.
I'm good at putting myself in your shoes to try to understand your experience, noticing strengths and wins you can build on. I too experienced an unaddressed PMAD and just didn’t feel myself, had lactation & breast-feeding struggles that accompanied some guilt/shame BUT I now how to co-construct some practical tips that can really be impactful helping you manage the day to day. I also might sense when you might need to slow things down or think about how others around you may have felt or experienced something especially your baby/ children (parental reflective capacity). I support and guide with struggles including, perinatal mood & anxiety disorders (PMAD’s) depression, life transitions, parenting styles, attachment & bonding with your baby, self-confidence as a parent, family issues, problem solving tricky feeding/sleeping schedules, and guidance on parent /child interactions for secure attachment. I utilize and am certified in the Circle Of Security approach. Circle of Security is a breath of fresh air to learning about your baby’s cues, reframe how you see stressors of parenting, how to set the tone for you and baby's secure attachment and your unique parenting style. Circle of Security is truly a gift! I am able to provide support to different types of people and make every effort in learning what type of support best helps propel them forward. I use Attachment based therapy practices, CBT, DBT, solution focused, interpersonal approaches, play therapy and I’m a certified FirstPlay practitioner.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Our thoughts can impact our behaviors and vice versa. Learning the basics of your own thought patterns and what you notice about them and whether you want to start to make changes to them is probably the first step in having more control over your life. If you want to explore this more with me, we will talk about what you want to see change and how it relates to your thoughts and behaviors.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
If you are the type of person that is in the actions stages of a life transition, taking charge of areas of your life that need a major change, or maybe you simply do not know where to turn or what to change first, solution -focused approaches are so highly sought after, effective and sometimes fast acting because you learn how to be your own change agent! I would like to work with you so you can think more solution oriented because there is always a safe and positive way around, over or through barriers to the changes you want.
Adlerian
Using an Adlerian approach means we will look at how connected you are with others in your life, how you live your life and if it is with purpose and self worth. What strategies do you employ during life changes OR do you want to learn how to make changes when needed in your life? Do you want to have more of a positive outlook and be more in charge of your future and learn how to tap into your confidence? If so, this is a really effective approach!
Attachment-based
Working with moms and their baby to learn about attachment and unique parenting styles. Forming secure attachments as a child fosters stable mental health, positive peer relationships and resilience and growth into an independent and secure adult. We form many attachments throughout our life and they aren't necessarily with biological family. If disrupted and you feel you were impacted in some way, attachments can be formed again in new secure ways with others in your life! There is hope and healing in knowing that alone. Think about your life story and if you would like to explore this some more!
