New to Grow
Hi there, I go by Maddy and I've been working in the field for about 3 years helping clients at the worst points of their lives find a sense of relief from their suffering. I work with a diverse range of clients, ideally those who have a very loud inner critic, want to be more outspoken and advocate for themselves, and those who feel that they aren't cut out for this weird thing called life. I have a particular affinity towards anyone experiencing the above with the added layer of AuDHD. If any of the above speaks to you, please reach out with any questions or to schedule a consultation.
Consistently research has found two of the biggest indicators of success in psychotherapy is the therapeutic relationship and shared goals. In our first session, and probably a few after that, we are going to work on building said relationship, getting to know you, getting to know my practice, coming up with goals that make sense for you, and establishing trust and safety in our sessions.
I am a firm believer that there is good in every single person. When discussing shame, mistakes, or traumatic events you will always be met with compassion in our sessions.
My ideal client is anyone that feels that they don't fit in or that they are 'too much' for the people around them. I take a very open approach with each client, accepting each and every emotion that comes up in session. When you are ready to make the step towards self acceptance and self compassion, and ignoring that self critic in your head, reach out and set up an appointment today.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use ACT to identify values and plan how you can best live according to those values. I also use cognitive diffusion techniques to help mitigate your response to distressing thoughts and emotions.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I use DBT to incorporate mindfulness, emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance skills to help you build a life worth living.
Strength-Based
I feel very strongly that each and every person has strengths. Strengths based allows me to focus on what you are good at and using that to reach your goals.
