New to Grow
Hello, I’m Kelly, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over fifteen years of experience supporting adults through life’s challenges. I completed my Master’s degree in 2003 and became licensed in 2007. Throughout my career, I’ve helped individuals with stress, anxiety, depression, helping them find clarity, balance, and renewed confidence. My approach is rooted in empathy, authenticity, and collaboration. I believe therapy works best when you feel truly heard and respected. Together, we focus on understanding what’s weighing on you and identifying practical ways to improve your outlook and emotional well-being. I strive to create a space where you feel comfortable exploring your thoughts and emotions while building skills that support meaningful change. I work collaboratively with clients to identify strengths, reframe unhelpful thought patterns, and develop practical tools that can be used outside of sessions. My goal is to help you feel empowered, capable, and more confident in navigating life’s challenges.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In Our First Session Together we’ll take time to get to know one another and begin building a strong therapeutic relationship. We’ll review background information, discuss what brought you to therapy, and explore what you hope to gain from our work together. Everything moves at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
Clients often describe me as caring, compassionate, and non-judgmental. I deeply value the dignity, worth, and individuality of each person I work with. Therapy with me is supportive and respectful, while still focused on growth and progress.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I’m best suited to work with adults who are seeking support with anxiety, stress, depression, anger, self-esteem concerns, or relationship challenges. You may feel stuck in negative patterns or overwhelmed by emotions and are looking for practical strategies to feel more balanced and fulfilled. Together, we’ll create a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your goals and values. By combining cognitive-behavioral techniques with a client-centered approach, we focus on what matters most to you. Successful outcomes are supported by clear goals, consistent sessions, and a willingness to practice new strategies between appointments.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I’ve been using CBT in my practice for over 15 years. It’s helped dozens of clients challenge depressive thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to explore the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and how they influence one another. From there, we’ll work on shifting unhelpful thinking patterns so you can feel more at ease and experience less stress in your daily life.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I've been using Rogerian, or Person-Centered Therapy, for over 15 years. This creates a supportive space where you can be yourself. I offer empathy, understanding, and genuine acceptance so you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment. Together, we’ll work toward greater self-awareness, healing, and a stronger sense of your own worth. This approach is especially helpful for those struggling with low self-esteem, depression, or anyone seeking a deeper connection with themselves.
Christian Counseling
For those desiring a Christian Counseling experience, I integrate faith-based principles with therapeutic techniques to help individuals find healing, growth, and guidance through a Christian worldview. The focus is on addressing emotional, mental, and spiritual challenges while using scripture, prayer, and Christian values as core tools for healing and transformation. Faith as a Foundation: Christian counseling centers on the belief that God is central to the healing process. I incorporate biblical teachings to provide guidance, comfort, and wisdom during difficult times. Integration of Scripture: Biblical principles are woven into the counseling process to encourage spiritual growth. Scripture will be used to provide perspective, offer comfort, and highlight God's promises in the midst of challenges. Prayer: Prayer, if desired, can be part of the counseling sessions, allowing clients to connect with God, seek guidance, or simply experience peace in His presence. Healing and Restoration: I help clients recognize their identity in Christ and how to align their emotional, mental, and spiritual health with God's will. This approach emphasizes forgiveness, grace, and the restoration of relationships. Moral and Ethical Guidance: Christian counseling involves exploring moral decisions in the context of Christian ethics, helping clients make choices that align with their faith. Holistic Healing: This counseling model addresses the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—believing that true healing involves all aspects of an individual's being, with a focus on spiritual well-being as part of the healing process. Support in Life’s Challenges: Whether dealing with relationship issues, grief, addiction, anxiety, or depression, Christian counseling helps clients navigate life's struggles through the lens of faith, offering hope, comfort, and practical strategies for healing. Christian counseling is suitable for individuals who seek to integrate their faith into the therapeutic process, providing them with a safe, compassionate environment to work through their challenges while nurturing their spiritual growth.
