My name is Edith E. Castellon; I am a first-generation bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), providing psychotherapy services in California. My lived experience as a woman of color and intersecting identities has led me to guide people through their healing journey. My personal and professional experiences have enabled me to engage with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and ethnicities. I’ve worked with clients to address a wide range of mental health issues, such as trauma, anxiety, depression, family conflict, acculturation, adjustment, life transitions, and intergenerational/first-generation issues.
The first 1-2 sessions focus on intake and assessment. We discuss what brought you to therapy and learn what your therapy goals are.
As a therapist, I am genuine, direct, impartial, and compassionate.
I have worked with adults, parents, and youth, as well as members of the LGBTQIA+ community, BIPOC, Latin/e/, and children of immigrants. I have helped guide clients from various backgrounds, who struggle with various challenges in life, such as disturbances from childhood, phase-of-life issues, relational issues, trauma, grief, anxiety, and depression.
I use various therapeutic approaches to best support my clients in reaching their mental health goals. I am client-centered and use Psychoanalytic/Psychodynamic, Trauma-Focused, Strength-Based, Evidence-Based techniques (such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and Mindfulness Techniques, to support clients.
