Whitney Burgess
I’m Whitney, a licensed marriage and family therapist with a warm, thoughtful presence and a practical approach. I work well with people who are used to holding a lot together but feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or caught in patterns they’re ready to understand and change. I bring curiosity, compassion, and gentle directness to our conversations, creating space for vulnerability, honest reflection, and humor. Together, we’ll explore what’s beneath the surface and practice ways to navigate anxiety, relationships, and life’s demands with greater clarity, self-trust, and connection.
First session
After our first session, my hope is that you feel heard, understood, and a little less alone in what you’re carrying. You may leave with a clearer sense of what brings you to therapy and curiosity about patterns we can explore together. Above all, I want you to feel there is room to be yourself, move at your own pace, and begin to see a path forward.
Strengths
My sessions offer warmth, depth, and a clear sense of purpose. I listen closely for the feelings, needs, and protective patterns beneath what brings you to therapy, and I’m comfortable staying present with vulnerability. I will provide thoughtful questions, compassionate honesty, and practical support. As we work together, insight becomes a foundation for meaningful change, deeper connection, and a more fulfilling life.
Ideal clients
Some ideal aspects of therapy involve willingness, curiosity and engagement. Maybe you are the one often holding a great deal together while privately feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or caught in familiar patterns. They’re curious about their inner world and willing to explore it with honesty, even when vulnerability feels unfamiliar. They hope to turn deeper understanding into meaningful change, stronger relationships, and a life that feels more fully their own.
