Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In your first session with me, you can expect a welcoming, nonjudgmental space where we begin getting to know each other. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, explore your goals, and discuss any symptoms or challenges you’ve been experiencing. I’ll also explain how I work, answer any questions you have, and together we’ll start shaping a plan that fits your needs. This session is about building comfort and trust so you feel safe moving forward at your own pace.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths as a provider are my ability to build trust quickly, my trauma-informed and culturally sensitive approach, and my commitment to meeting clients where they are without judgment. I offer a calm, grounded presence that helps clients feel safe, seen, and supported. As both a therapist and a veteran, I bring a unique depth of understanding to issues related to trauma, identity, and transition, and I’m skilled at helping clients connect insight to action in meaningful, lasting ways.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I welcome clients from all backgrounds and identities, offering a supportive, trauma-informed space for anyone seeking healing, growth, or clarity. My practice is inclusive, but I have a strong connection to and deep respect for the veteran community. As a veteran and ally, I understand the unique challenges of military service, transition, and trauma. I specialize in helping individuals manage PTSD, anxiety, depression, substance use, and relationship challenges. My ideal clients may feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck, and are looking for a therapist who offers both empathy and structure. I use evidence-based methods—including CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Hypnotherapy, and Person-Centered Therapy—to help you gain insight, build skills, and move forward with purpose. Whether you're a veteran, a trauma survivor, or simply navigating life’s stressors, I’m here to support your journey toward healing and meaningful change.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

In my practice, I use Person-Centered Therapy to create a safe, supportive space where you feel genuinely heard and respected. This approach allows you to guide the pace and direction of our work together while I offer empathy, encouragement, and honest reflection to help you gain insight and move toward healing. It's about building a strong therapeutic relationship so you feel empowered to make the changes you want in your life.

Trauma Informed Care

In my practice, I use Trauma-Informed Care to ensure you feel safe, respected, and in control of your healing process. I recognize how past trauma can impact current thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and I tailor our work together with that understanding in mind. My goal is to create a space where trust can grow and healing can happen at your pace.

Prolonged Exposure Therapy

In my practice, I use Prolonged Exposure Therapy to help you gradually confront and process trauma-related memories, feelings, and situations in a safe and structured way. This evidence-based approach is effective in reducing symptoms of PTSD by decreasing avoidance and helping you regain a sense of control over your life. We move at your pace, with support and guidance throughout each step.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and beliefs that may be affecting your emotions and behaviors. Together, we work on developing healthier thinking patterns and coping strategies to support lasting change. CBT is a structured, practical approach that empowers you to better manage stress, anxiety, depression, and other challenges.

Hypnotherapy

In my practice, I use hypnotherapy as a tool to help you access deeper levels of awareness and promote meaningful change. It can be especially effective for managing anxiety, trauma, and unwanted habits by tapping into the subconscious mind. Sessions are collaborative, and you remain in control as we use guided relaxation and focused attention to support your healing goals.
