Tina Luis-Brown
I am a licensed Marriage and Family therapist. I actively work in collaboration with individuals, couples and families so they can remain true to their values and accountable to themselves. I work with diverse people who are seeking to overcome challenges such as trauma, loss, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, and low self-esteem, tailoring my approach to their specific needs and interests.
First session
We will collaborate to identify any challenge areas. I aim to help you identify options and strategies you can use to get there. In each session I will support you in better understanding what you're facing from an "actions I can take right now" approach. There will be invitations about how we can enhance our work together, including in session rating scales. I have a long history of working with BIPOC communities recovering from historical, intergenerational, and/or racial traumatic stress.
Strengths
I have worked with thousands of individuals by integrating trauma-informed principles, attachment theory and other care approaches (somatic, spiritual, emotional, among others). I believe confidential therapy is a collaborative process, where everyone is unique and can feel stronger through awareness, healing, and growth. I have an integrative style, where we will develop an individualized, flexible, and multi-theoretical based plan focused on meeting your needs. I use a multicultural healing framework that includes an integration of therapeutic approaches informed by neuroscience. My approach prioritizes helping individuals increase their sense of empowerment, agency, authenticity, and self-knowledge while developing skills needed to navigate and minimize barriers to care.
Ideal clients
I work with clients dealing with anxiety (panic attacks, obsessive compulsive challenges, social anxiety and generalized anxiety struggles, etc.), depression (low grade, dysthymic, low mood, etc.), systemic issues like intergenerational and cultural and societal stressors, life transitions, empty nest, career and professional challenges, growth mindset, parents with adult children, grief and loss, attachment issues, anger issues, worthiness issues, imposter syndrome,
