You’re an Asian-American professional who has achieved a great deal, yet you still feel unhappy. You may feel angry with the people you love most, anxious about what life may bring, disappointed when things don’t go your way, and frustrated with all of the above. You know there has to be more to life than simply getting through the day, but you haven’t been able to figure out what that is yet. As a second-generation Korean American therapist, I understand both personally and professionally how difficult it can be to grow up between cultures, navigate family expectations, and develop a stable sense of confidence and self-respect. My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I draw from CBT, psychodynamic therapy, supportive therapy, and mindfulness to help clients better understand themselves and develop the skills needed to create lasting, meaningful change.
In our first session, we will begin by getting to know each other and discussing what brings you to therapy. I will explain how therapy works, answer any questions you may have, and ask about your history, relationships, symptoms, and goals so that I can better understand how to support you.
I bring a practical, direct, and compassionate approach to therapy. Drawing from both professional training and personal experience, I offer insights and tools that are realistic, grounded, and useful in everyday life.
I work best with Asian-American professionals and other high-achieving adults who are thoughtful, motivated, and ready to better understand themselves and make meaningful changes in their lives. Many of my clients feel stuck despite their accomplishments and want to feel more confident, grounded, and at ease. I help clients identify and change patterns of thinking, communicating, and behaving that contribute to anxiety, depression, perfectionism, family pressure, anger, relationship stress, and low self-esteem.

Psychodynamic
I use psychodynamic therapy to help clients understand how earlier experiences and family dynamics may still shape their emotions, relationships, and sense of self. By identifying these patterns with curiosity and compassion, clients can respond more thoughtfully in the present.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I use mindfulness-based therapy to help clients become more aware of their thoughts, emotions, and physical reactions without immediately judging or reacting to them. Mindfulness can help clients feel more grounded, less reactive, and better able to make choices that reflect their values.

I have been able to take my self awareness to a level where I now trust myself to make good decisions. I am also navigating my next steps in work and family life. As the sandwich generation, there is much to work through! Eshan helps me keep self care top of mind. It is the oxygen max approach. I am putting mine on first.
