LMFT, 9 years of experience
Hi there, I'm Gillermina (Mina) Alvarado! I am a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist based in California. I received my Master's from the University of Phoenix and have been practicing for 9 years and working with client's via statewide via telehealth. I help young children, adolescents, young adults, and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, behaviors, grief and loss, and stress.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
Having worked with young children, adolescents, young adults, and adults for the past 9 years, I've developed a tried-and-true playbook for helping you (a) identify the root cause of your challenges and (b) create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress.
I love working with ages 8 to adults who are struggling with daily life stressors. My clients are eager to improve, but don't yet have the tools needed to make this goal a reality. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed and anxious about different aspects in their life.
I’ve been using CBT in my practice for the past nine years. It’s helped dozens of clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.
