Hello! My name is Jamie and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in California. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, and trauma in adults. My approach is client-centered and strengths-based, and I believe in the power of a supportive therapeutic relationship to help individuals achieve their goals and live more fulfilling lives. I utilize various evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness techniques, and trauma focused therapy. I am passionate about helping my clients navigate life transitions, manage stress, and develop healthier coping strategies. I provide a safe and nonjudgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings, gain insight into their behaviors, and work towards positive change. I believe that everyone has the capacity for growth and healing, and I am honored to be a part of my clients' journey towards self-discovery and self-improvement. If you are seeking support and guidance in overcoming personal challenges and achieving greater well-being, I am here to help.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then discuss the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I use strength based, person centered and trauma informed practices with clients. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to assist clients in exploring how emotions, thoughts, behaviors, and relationship patterns are connected and how to create balance between them. During treatment I will help you learn Mindfulness to assist in noticing how the mind and body work together to create well being.

My treatment methods

Brainspotting

Brainspotting is a therapeutic technique that helps individuals process and release trauma and other negative emotions by focusing on specific eye positions that are believed to activate the brain’s natural healing processes. By using this approach, I help clients access and process difficult memories and emotions in a safe and supportive environment, ultimately helping them move towards healing and recovery.

EMDR

EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a type of therapy that is often used to help individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences. During EMDR sessions, clients are guided by their therapist to recall distressing memories while simultaneously focusing on external stimuli, such as hand movements or sounds. This process helps to desensitize the individual to the traumatic event and allows for more adaptive processing of the memory. As a therapist, I am trained in EMDR and utilize this approach with clients who are struggling with trauma. I have seen firsthand the positive impact that EMDR can have on individuals, and I am committed to providing a safe and supportive space for clients to work through their trauma and heal.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

By incorporating CBT techniques such as cognitive restructuring, behavioral experiments, and homework assignments, clients are able to develop new skills and strategies to manage their symptoms and improve their overall well-being. I also work collaboratively with clients to set specific goals and monitor progress over time. I have seen significant improvements in clients' mental health and overall functioning through the use of CBT.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness is a powerful tool for promoting mental health and well-being. As a therapist, I often incorporate mindfulness practices into my sessions to help clients stay present, manage their emotions, and increase self-awareness. By encouraging clients to focus on their thoughts, feelings, and sensations in the present moment, they can gain a better understanding of themselves and develop healthier ways of coping with stress and difficult emotions. Additionally, mindfulness can help clients cultivate a sense of acceptance and compassion towards themselves, leading to greater self-esteem and overall emotional well-being. I believe that by incorporating mindfulness into therapy, I can help my clients develop the skills and resources they need to lead more fulfilling and balanced lives.
