Hi! I'm Sylvian Deigh a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a passion for creating a safe and non- judgmental safe where clients from diverse backgrounds can feel understood, supported, respected and empowered. I earned my Bachelor degree in Social Work from Azusa Pacific University (APU) and my Masters degree in Social Work from University of Southern California (USC). I specialize in working with adolescents and adults struggling with Anger, Domestic violence, parenting challenges, substance abuse, relationship problems and life transitions. I am also a Certified Anger Management Specialist (CAMS-II) and a Certified Parenting Training Specialist (CPST) providing group and individual anger management classes to both court mandated and self referred clients. I have worked in a variety of settings including Community mental health, private practice and residential treatment settings. My therapeutic approach includes CBT , SFBT, MI, Client Centered, insight oriented and the strength based approach.

I am a firm believer that creating a positive therapeutic relationship is very essential for success in therapy. our first session together, will create the building blocks for a healthy therapeutic relationship where goals and expectations, confidentially and safety are reviewed. Typically, clients leave our first session having a clearer understanding of what they may want to work on over the course of therapy following our collaborative discussion during the first session.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I apply principles of CBT in my practice depending on clients specific needs such as understanding the relationship between Thoughts, Emotions and Behaviors, identifying/challenging negative core beliefs, Identify/changing cognitive distortions and exploring cognitive and behavioral coping skills to help manage their symptoms.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I applied solution focused brief therapy therapy for clients who are looking for a short term goal oriented approached instead of focusing on the problem. Together, we on identifying strengths and resources needed for a practical and sustainable solution.
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
I believe my clients are the experts of their life. By taking time to understand their unique cultural backgrounds and experiences, it helps me understand their cultural norms, beliefs, and values and how they may contribute to their mental health symptoms. Additionally, it helps me to be conscious about creating a safe space where clients feel understood and valued.
