Mr. Briceño is a therapist who values depth, presence, and intentionality in his work. He was drawn to this field through a desire to better understand himself and support my immediate family through difficult experiences, and that curiosity continues to guide how he practices today. His professional journey has included working with individuals across the lifespan and life circumstances from ages 4-106. This has shaped his respect for resilience and the complexity of human experience. Those experiences reinforced his belief that therapy is most effective when it is grounded in empathy, reflection, and genuine human connection. He approaches this work thoughtfully and with care. Is intentional about how he shows up with clients, prioritizing presence and understanding over labels or quick solutions. He values honest conversation, self-awareness, and creating spaces for people to explore their experiences in a way that feels grounded and respectful. At his core, therapy is about understanding—understanding ourselves, our patterns, and what matters most to us. Supporting that process, and witnessing growth that comes from clarity and insight, is what continues to motivate him in this work.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is an opportunity for us to begin building a sense of safety and understanding. We’ll spend time talking about what led you to seek therapy, what feels most important to share right now, and what you’re hoping might change or become clearer through our work together. There is no pressure to tell your whole story or have everything figured out. It’s normal to feel nervous or unsure at the beginning, and we’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. My focus during the first session is building rapport, listening, understanding your perspective, and helping you feel supported as we start to get to know each other.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What sets my work apart is the breadth of perspective I bring into the therapy room. Having worked with people across many ages, life stages, and systems, I’m able to recognize patterns while still honoring each person’s unique experience. This helps therapy feel thoughtful and flexible rather than one-size-fits-all. Equally important is my ability to sit with complexity without rushing to simplify it. I’m intentional about when to reflect, when to gently challenge, and when to simply listen. This allows clients to gain clarity at their own pace and supports change that feels grounded, meaningful, and sustainable.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I’m best positioned to work with individuals who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about how to move forward in their lives. Many of my clients are navigating anxiety, depression, substance use concerns, work-life stress, or periods of transition that have left them feeling disconnected from themselves or unsure of what they need. My ideal clients tend to be thoughtful and reflective, even if they feel emotionally exhausted or unclear when they begin therapy. They are often open to slowing down, exploring their inner experience, and gaining insight rather than looking for quick fixes or rigid solutions. I also work well with individuals navigating changing roles or responsibilities, including transitions related to family, caregiving, or aging. *Self‑pay rates vary by service type (e.g. individual vs couples/family). We’ll review your specific rate and a Good Faith Estimate together before scheduling.*

My treatment methods

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use solution-focused therapy to help clients identify what’s already working and build on existing strengths. Rather than spending extensive time on problems, we focus on practical steps, small changes, and realistic goals that support meaningful progress in everyday life.

Humanistic

My humanistic approach emphasizes empathy, acceptance, and understanding your lived experience. I believe growth happens when people feel genuinely heard and respected. Therapy focuses on self-awareness, meaning, and personal values rather than trying to “fix” or pathologize problems.

Motivational Interviewing

I use motivational interviewing to support clients in exploring ambivalence and strengthening their own motivation for change. My approach is collaborative and non-judgmental, helping clients clarify what matters to them and move forward in ways that feel authentic and self-directed.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I use person-centered therapy to create a safe, supportive space where clients can explore thoughts and emotions at their own pace. By offering warmth, authenticity, and non-judgment, I help clients develop insight, self-trust, and a deeper understanding of themselves.

Strength-Based

My strength-based approach focuses on recognizing resilience, abilities, and past successes. Rather than defining clients by their challenges, I help them identify internal resources and build confidence in their capacity to cope, grow, and navigate life’s stressors.
