I'm an LCSW with over 20 years in providing psychotherapy in various settings. My specialties include depression, anxiety, and women's issues. I love to work with clients and create a safe space to provide support and empathy for what they are going through to help them feel heard and seen. Sometimes by talking to a nonjudgemental third party, we are able to gain a greater perspective on our life's situations and how to better navigate moving forward.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
During our first session, we will talk about what brings you to therapy, what you are hoping to get out of therapy, and to determine if we are a good fit for each other.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I am easy to talk to, empathetic, supportive, validating, nonjudgmental, and a safe person to talk to. Sometimes it's not always about "fixing our problems right away" but rather understanding ourselves better to more appropriately face and handle situations with more compassion for ourselves and others while setting healthy boundaries, communication, and realistic expectations.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work best with clients who are open and honest in talking about their struggles and a willingness to try different approaches and perspectives to improve their quality of life.
Supportive
I provide a safe, empathetic, nonjudgemental space to help you feel seen, understood, and validated.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
We can work together to see how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other; common cognitive distortions; more helpful ways of reframing our thoughts to feel better;
Compassion Focused
We learn ways to increase self-compassion for ourselves to help with better self-esteem, self-worth, and confidence.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
We work together to see if there are better coping skills and responses to use to help provide quicker solutions to our symptoms.
Trauma Informed Care
We learn about how trauma has impacted you in your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Then we try to heal trauma with more helpful coping skills in a supportive environment.
