LMFT, 6 years of experience
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist providing therapy to individuals and couples throughout California. I have extensive experience working with severe anxiety, depression, chronic illness, allergies and autoimmune conditions, developmental trauma, relationship and mood-related challenges. I also work with adults and professionals on issues such as self-confidence, decision-making, personal and career growth. Prior to becoming a therapist, I studied the human behavior while working with individuals experiencing eating disorders, autism, and Alzheimer’s disease. I also conducted research on how caregivers’ responses impact a child’s development. This has given me a deep understanding of how human behavior and psychology are shaped by culture, experience, neuroscience, and the brain.
In our first session, we will get to know you, explore your symptoms, and help formulate goals based on what you would like to experience instead. We will also discuss your strengths, resources, and what to expect from therapy.
I am genuinely interested in fully understanding my clients’ experiences, and active listening is one of my greatest strengths. Additionally, I focus on identifying and addressing the root causes of challenges to help create lasting, meaningful change.
One of the strongest indicators of potential progress is a client’s commitment to the therapeutic process. I’ve also found that growth tends to accelerate when clients engage with small homework assignments between sessions. Client - therapist fit is also very important. Therefore, I am open to providing consultations to anyone seeking mental health services that could be a good fit that doesn't fall under the above listed challenges.
I use a mix of treatment approaches including CBT, trauma-informed care, solution-oriented and psychodynamic. I also rely heavily on psycho educating clients about the science behind their challenges and in utilizing mindfulness to help increase insight and self regulation.
