New to Grow
Hello, I'm Erika. I hold a master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University and a B.A. from Park University in Parkville, Missouri. My approach to therapy is integrative and person-centered, utilizing various theoretical interventions to guide and treat each client uniquely. My varied work experiences include serving the community as a Child Protective Investigator with the Department of Children and Families, a Juvenile Probation Officer with the Department of Juvenile Justice, and a Discharge Planner/Mental Health Tech, and Utilization Review Specialist within a Psychiatric Crisis Stabilization Unit. I have provided outpatient, inpatient, IOP, PHP, individual, couples, family, and group therapy at both mental health community centers and addiction residential treatment facilities. Additionally, I have participated in both Drug Court and Mental Health Court practicing forensic psychology.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
The initial session will be an intake where background information will be gathered to assess and determine treatment goals and objectives. It will also be an opportunity for the client to ask any questions of the provider as well as to determine if the therapeutic approaches and connection is what serves the client.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I am also bilingual and can provide care in Spanish. If you are looking for support and guidance, I am here to help you navigate your journey toward a healthier and more fulfilling life. Let's work together to achieve your goals.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
As a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of California, Arizona and Florida, I am dedicated to helping others improve their lives through education, insight, and change. With over 15 years of experience working with families, adolescents, adults, and geriatric clients, I have assisted clients in learning new ways of coping with life changes, negative past traumatic experiences, depression, anxiety, ADHD, grief, and phase-of-life problems and situations. As a therapist, I believe in using integrated theoretical approaches to best help my clients. My educational, professional, and life experiences, along with continued education, enable me to treat both mental health and substance abuse issues effectively. I strive to help families, couples, and individuals problem-solve, overcome personal issues, and work toward positive home and community experiences.
