Hi there! Welcome, my name is Joanna. I am a bilingual, Spanish-speaking Licensed Clinical Social Worker with experience supporting diverse populations in a variety of settings including community mental health, Federally Qualified Health Centers and mobile crisis in conjunction with law enforcement agencies. I assist individuals struggling with Anxiety, Depression, situational and transitional stressors, attachment issues, relationship problems, suicidal ideation, behavioral issues, generational trauma, and more. My goal is to provide you with a safe, supportive, and judgement-free space where you allow curiosity to lead in the journey to your best self. Through a client-centered, integrative (mind and body), collaborative process rooted in authenticity, curiosity, compassion, non-judgmental approach, we work together to explore your past, present, and desired future. Through this collaboration, we will focus on identifying and/or enhancing existing strengths, copings skills, resources, and support system to better equip you with the tools necessary to pursue the life you want, navigate life stressors more effectively, enhance your relationships and improve the overall quality of your life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

You can expect to walk away from our sessions together with an increased sense of clarity, self-awareness and confidence in your ability to move forward on your own terms.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

My therapeutic approach consists of various treatment modalities and tools entirely dependent on individual needs. These may include Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused, Psychodynamic, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, psychoeducation and more.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a result of my own lived experiences and going through my own fair share of trials and tribulations, I am able to more deeply empathize, validate, and meet my clients where they're are at while supporting them in their journey to where they want to be. These strengths are especially important while you are meeting with a new therapist and establishing rapport.
