In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In your first session with Gita Rai, you can expect a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where your experiences are respected and valued. Gita’s priority is to help you feel safe and comfortable as you begin sharing your story at your own pace. The initial session is focused on getting to know you as a whole person. Gita will gently explore what brings you to therapy, including any current challenges such as anxiety, mood concerns, life transitions, grief, or other stressors. She may also ask about your personal history, relationships, and strengths to better understand your unique perspective. Gita takes a collaborative and individualized approach. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method, she works with you to begin identifying your goals for therapy—whether that’s improving emotional well-being, building coping skills, navigating life changes, or strengthening relationships.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
A supportive space where you can speak openly without fear of judgment Thoughtful questions to help clarify your experiences and needs An introduction to the therapy process, including how sessions typically work Initial guidance or tools, if appropriate, to begin addressing your concerns
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, goal-oriented form of psychotherapy that helps clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected—and how changing unhelpful patterns can improve emotional well-being.
