New to Grow
Hi, I’m Kathy Khorramian, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. My work is rooted in a solution-focused approach that integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based techniques, and hypnotherapy-inspired visualization methods. I help clients shift unhelpful thought patterns, navigate life and career challenges, and build lasting habits that support a more balanced and meaningful life. I have worked closely with neurodivergent individuals, including those with Autism, ADHD, and executive functioning challenges. I also support clients experiencing anxiety, stress, and major life transitions such as grief, career changes, and relationship shifts. My goal is to provide practical tools and compassionate guidance while helping you recognize your strengths and gain greater clarity and confidence. I believe therapy is about more than coping; it’s about growth, self-understanding, and creating a life that feels authentic and fulfilling. Using CBT, I help clients identify and reframe thought patterns that contribute to distress, while mindfulness-based strategies support clients in approaching their thoughts and emotions with greater awareness, acceptance, and presence.
In your first session, we will focus on getting to know you and understanding your goals for therapy. I’ll ask about your history, current challenges, and what you hope to achieve, while also answering any questions you have about the process. Together, we’ll start identifying patterns, strengths, and strategies that can help you move forward. The session is a safe space to share openly, and by the end, you’ll have a sense of how we might work together to support your growth and well-being.
My approach is practical and personalized, blending Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, and visualization techniques. I help clients gain awareness of thought patterns, manage emotions, and develop skills to navigate life’s challenges, creating lasting change and greater clarity, balance, and confidence.
I am best positioned to work with individuals who are motivated to understand themselves more deeply and develop practical strategies to manage challenges in their lives. This includes clients navigating anxiety, stress, major life transitions, or relationship and career difficulties. I also have extensive experience supporting neurodivergent individuals, including those with Autism, ADHD, or executive functioning challenges. My approach is solution-focused and tailored to help clients shift unhelpful thought patterns, build positive habits, and achieve greater clarity, balance, and confidence in their daily lives.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In my practice, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify patterns in their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that may be contributing to distress. We work together to challenge unhelpful thinking patterns and develop healthier coping strategies. My goal is to help clients build practical skills they can use in everyday situations to manage stress and improve overall well-being.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I use mindfulness-based techniques to help clients develop greater awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and body sensations in the present moment. Mindfulness helps clients slow down automatic reactions and approach difficult experiences with greater acceptance and clarity. These skills can support emotional regulation, reduce stress, and help clients respond to challenges more intentionally.
Hypnotherapy
I am certified in hypnotherapy and incorporate visualization techniques in my practice to help clients relax, access inner resources, and explore new perspectives. While I do not typically conduct full hypnotherapy sessions, I may guide clients through brief imagery or visualization exercises to support stress reduction, emotional processing, and goal setting. These techniques help clients engage their imagination and strengthen positive coping strategies.
