About me

Hello! my name is Lorie Alcocer, and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), credentialed school psychologist and school counselor with over a decade of experience in the mental health field. I am passionate about and committed to supporting my clients through their challenges, so they can experience healing and growth. Using a client-centered approach, I provide a safe and accepting environment where clients can explore their thoughts and emotions.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

My first session with you or your child/adolescent will be focused on building a therapeutic relationship. During this time, we will also discuss what brought you to therapy and what goals you would like to accomplish.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My approach is warm, empathetic, and client-centered, drawing from a variety of evidence-based and creative modalities. Working with adults, adolescents, and children, I will support my client’s autonomy while providing a safe, empathic and non-judgmental environment. I will use a non-directive approach while supporting parental involvement when working with children and adolescents. Meeting the unique needs of my clients, I encourage healthier thought patterns and behaviors while exploring intrinsic values and goals and inspiring creative expression. When meaningful to the client, I also integrate a Christian perspective to deepen insight and connection.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Using a person-centered approach, I will work collaboratively with all my clients in a non-structured and client-driven environment. For either adults, adolescents or parents of young children, we will work together to formulate goals and treatment plans that you decide and are comfortable with. I strive to create an environment that is welcoming and accepting where you leave sessions with a greater self-awareness, practical tools for navigating life’s challenges, and steady progress toward meaningful goals. Whether you're seeking relief, growth, or simply a place to be heard, I’m here to walk with you on your journey.
