As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I bring a decade of diverse experience across adolescent mental health, juvenile justice, homelessness care, and therapeutic case management. My clinical approach is rooted in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and attachment-based modalities. I also integrate a range of complementary techniques tailored to each client’s unique needs, drawing from my broad training and hands-on experience in complex care environments. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with youth navigating trauma, systemic barriers, and emotional challenges, helping them build resilience and reclaim agency. My work in juvenile justice and homelessness care has deepened my commitment to equity, advocacy, and trauma-informed support. Whether in one-on-one therapy or multidisciplinary case coordination, I strive to create safe, collaborative spaces where healing and growth are possible. I believe that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process—it’s a dynamic partnership. My style is compassionate, grounded, and adaptive, empowering clients to explore their inner world while developing practical tools for everyday life. In this dynamic partnership, I encourage my clients to communicate openly with me regarding my own approach so that I may better adjust my style to meet their needs. Outside of my professional life, I recharge through travel, fitness, journaling, and video games. These personal passions fuel my creativity and balance, reminding me of the importance of play, reflection, and exploration—values I often bring into the therapeutic space.

This season of life has been WAY more than you imagined. You juggle everyone else's needs, and you are realizing you need space for yourself. Friend, I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Jess. I specialize in supporting high-capacity women and their children as they navigate betrayal, burnout, and major life changes. I know what it’s like when the late-night fights with your spouse leave you drained, when work deadlines and school carpool lines blur together, and the days feel like they’re just melting into one another. Maybe you’ve forgotten what it feels like to laugh, to feel light, or to truly enjoy a moment for yourself. You are in the right place. Here is where you get to pause, process, and reclaim clarity, balance, and joy—even in the midst of life’s chaos. I combine evidence-based techniques—like mindfulness, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and somatic strategies—with a compassionate, encouraging approach tailored to your needs. Whether your goals are to feel more confident, create healthier relationships, speak up, or find yourself again, I’d love to support you. My approach is warm, positive, and focused on practical, small steps—one day at a time—so you can cultivate resilience, clarity, and your healthiest, most authentic life. My focus is always on supporting you where you are, meeting your needs with compassion, and helping you move toward a life that feels aligned, meaningful, and manageable.

I have worked in the social service field for over 15 years as a social worker, clinician and in administration. I enjoy giving, sharing, working in the community, and connecting individuals to essential resources and empowering them towards growth, progress and self-sufficiency. My hope and objectives are to inspire others to keep going despite life’s challenges and difficult experiences. Considering personal experiences with setbacks and health challenges, obtaining an education and becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker was not destined for me, however, it became obtainable and has been a great achievement. My all-time driven mottos are: "If I can, you can” and "carpe diem" seize the day as tomorrow is not promised. Therefore, I strive to reach back and help others thrive and live life full out. I am inspired by the teachings of Brene Brown who states …” we can have courage or we can have comfort, but we cannot have both…courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen.” And I remain motivated by the late great Maya Angelou as she declares, “Still I Rise” …. “What you’re supposed to do when you don’t like a thing is change it. If you can’t change it, change the way you think about it” [and] “nothing will work unless you do.”

I’m a licensed clinical psychologist with over a decade of experience in mental health. Much of my career has involved helping people in high-stress professions such as law enforcement and other first responders, healthcare workers, and educators. In addition to providing therapy, I’ve also worked alongside these professionals in collaborative, multidisciplinary settings to better understand their unique environments and support the people they serve. Through this work, I’ve gained a deep appreciation for the pressures they face and focus on helping them build resilience, restore balance, and strengthen their overall well-being. I take a flexible, collaborative approach, using solution-focused methods tailored to each person’s goals. I strive to create a supportive space that highlights clients’ strengths and helps them develop practical strategies to feel more balanced, confident, and fulfilled.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by California rather than a city like LA?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across California from San Francisco to San Diego! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in California.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on Career Counseling?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Career Counseling, is filtering therapists in California that work with patients with similar concerns.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
