What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

You will have a comfortable place to share your feelings and concerns and address your issues. In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. You will have the opportunity to answer meaningful questions during the Initial Assessment and address how certain patterns may be holding you back. A range of evidence-based methods including CBT, DBT, Humanistic Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Positive Psychology will be utilized depending upon the individual. For patients who desire to integrate their spiritual beliefs into their therapy, their faith or beliefs can be blended into the process of their therapy. Mindfulness and Meditation may be integrated into the process if desired by the individual as well. This will help me create a tailored Treatment Plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. Taking the first step to begin therapy is a challenge:-) Showing up regularly, making the commitment to be open and honest, and digging into unknown territory takes real courage. I have great respect for those that are able to take the challenge! If you can come, I can promise you that we can take these steps as you desire and allow you to move forward at your own pace. I think you will find me to be positive, validating and professional in tailoring your Treatment Plan with you!

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One of my greatest strengths as a provider is the combination of strong Clinical Training in a Neuropsychiatric Hospital alongside many psychologists and psychiatrists and 25 years of attending Treatment Team Meetings as a participant and later as the leader of the team. I learned to conceptualize and define the issues the individual was experiencing and effectively treat the problem in a brief period of time. I have a solid background of how to utilize holistic, alternative means to treat the issues of an individual in addition to when they would benefit by having other types of intervention. I hold multiple graduate degrees, including a doctorate in Clinical Psychology, an MA in Education with Credentials in School Counseling/School Administration and a BA in Education and a Credential as a Teacher. I have been an educator at the University Level and taught students at 3 of the California State Universities at the Graduate Level in the Psychology and Counseling Programs. I completed advanced training in evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, Medical Hypnosis, Meditation, Mindfulness and many other courses. Most of all, I have deep compassion and caring for my clients and offer them my professional expertise to establishing a Treatment Plan that will allow them to accomplish their goals:-)
