I am the owner of Breaking BHAD Counseling, LLC, a U.S. Army veteran, and a graduate of Webster University with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I specialize in working with high-functioning adults who are ready to take responsibility for their growth. Many of my clients are professionals, leaders, veterans, and driven individuals who seem successful on the outside but feel internally misaligned, overwhelmed, or stagnant. Hi, I'm Tara, and my journey to becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker has been a winding one. I grew up in California, served in the U.S. Coast Guard, studied abroad, and have three adult daughters. I completed my MSW at the University of New Hampshire and have had the privilege of providing mental health support and counseling to individuals from diverse backgrounds. My professional background includes working for a non-profit, providing therapy in residential, outpatient, and private practice settings.

I was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and moved to the United States in my mid-teens, carrying with me resilience, cultural richness, and a deep passion for helping others. My greatest inspiration has always been my mother—a strong, independent woman who taught me compassion, courage, and the power of emotional support. Those values led me to become a therapist dedicated to guiding others through life’s most difficult moments. Today, I specialize in supporting adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship stress, and significant life transitions. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that every person is capable of healing. I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their emotions, process their past, and build the confidence and stability they deserve. I have been practicing for 9 years.
