New to Grow
Hi, I’m Katya. If you’re considering therapy, you may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward—even if you’ve been trying to handle things on your own. If you’ve wondered whether therapy will actually help you, you’re in the right place. I see therapy as a practical, collaborative space where we focus on real progress, not perfection. My approach is strengths-based and grounded in tools that help you understand patterns that keep you stuck, manage emotions more effectively, and reconnect with what matters most to you. Therapy isn’t about erasing the past—it’s about building steadiness, clarity, and self-trust so you can move through life with more resilience. I often think of therapy like a climb: progress isn’t always about pushing harder. Sometimes it means pausing, reassessing, and finding your next steady hold. Whether you’re navigating a life transition, relationship challenges, or ongoing stress, my goal is to help you feel more grounded and supported as you move forward. I work with individuals and families in a collaborative way, meeting you where you are and creating a process that feels practical, respectful, and empowering.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know you and what’s bringing you to therapy right now. I’ll ask some questions about your experiences, current stressors, and what you’d like to change, but there’s no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with. Together, we’ll clarify your goals and talk about what working together might look like so you leave with a clearer sense of direction. My aim is to create a calm, judgment-free space where you feel heard, understood, and supported as we take the first steps forward.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My strengths as a therapist lie in combining warmth, clarity, and practical tools in a way that helps clients feel supported while also making real progress. I’m attentive to patterns that may be keeping you stuck and work to translate complex emotional experiences into insights that feel understandable and useful, without judgment or pressure. My therapeutic approach blends evidence-based methods such as CBT, motivational interviewing, and supportive therapy. I balance reflection with concrete strategies, so sessions include both understanding and actionable steps you can use in everyday life. Clients often share that our work helps them notice new perspectives, feel validated without feeling stuck, and make changes that are meaningful and lasting.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work best with individuals who are looking for greater clarity, emotional steadiness, and meaningful change. Many of my clients are navigating stress, anxiety, burnout, relationship challenges, or major life transitions and want to better understand themselves while building healthier ways of coping. Some people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed and unsure where to start. Others already have insight and tools but want deeper consistency and growth. What matters most is a willingness to explore and try something new, even if that motivation feels small or uncertain at first. My approach is a good fit for people who want both reflection and action—practical skills for managing day-to-day stress alongside a supportive space to examine patterns, strengthen self-trust, and improve their relationships. Whether you’re working to break old habits, rebuild confidence, or create a more intentional and balanced life, I offer a steady environment to support that process.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help clients identify and amend unhelpful thought patterns, teaching them to replace distorted beliefs with more balanced and empowering perspectives. Through structured cognitive and behavioral interventions, I guide clients in building practical coping skills that reduce symptoms and support long-term emotional regulation.
Motivational Interviewing
I use MI to strengthen clients’ intrinsic motivation for change by exploring ambivalence, affirming strengths, and collaboratively clarifying their personal values. Through a non-judgmental, client-centered approach, I help clients uncover their own readiness for growth and take aligned, self-directed steps toward their goals.
Supportive
I provide a safe, grounded space where clients can process emotions, build confidence, and stabilize during periods of stress or transition. By offering validation, reflective listening, and practical guidance, I help clients feel seen, strengthened, and resourced as they work toward a more balanced and mended state of mind.
