New to Grow
Hi, I’m Angie, a licensed mental health therapist passionate about helping children, teens, adults, and families find healing and connection. I specialize in creating a safe and supportive space where clients can explore emotions, build resilience, and strengthen relationships. My goal is to walk alongside you with compassion and practical tools so you feel understood, supported, and empowered to grow.
In our first session, my focus is on getting to know you and what brought you here. We’ll talk about your hopes for therapy, any challenges you or your family are facing, and what goals you’d like to work toward. I’ll also share how I approach therapy so you feel comfortable and know what to expect. Most importantly, the first session is about creating a safe and welcoming space where you can begin to feel heard, supported, and not alone in the process
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a safe, compassionate space where clients of all ages feel seen and heard. I blend evidence-based approaches like CBT, Adlerian Play Therapy, and family-centered strategies with a flexible, relational style tailored to each client’s needs. I’m skilled at helping children, teens, and adults build coping skills, strengthen resilience, and improve relationships, all while guiding families toward greater understanding and connection.
I work best with children, teens, adults, and families who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected and are ready to find a new way forward. Many of my clients are navigating anxiety, big emotions, or challenges in relationships and want support in building healthier patterns. I especially enjoy working with parents who want to better understand their child and strengthen their bond, as well as adults who are seeking relief from past hurts and a greater sense of confidence and balance in their lives.
I’m trained in EMDR, which is a powerful therapy that helps people heal from trauma, anxiety, and painful experiences. In sessions, I guide clients through gentle techniques like eye movements or tapping while they focus on a memory or feeling. This helps the brain process it in a new way so the pain feels lighter and less overwhelming. I weave EMDR into my work with children, teens, and adults in a way that feels safe, supportive, and at their own pace.
“In child and parent therapy, I create a safe and supportive space where kids can express themselves through play, creativity, and conversation. I help parents better understand their child’s needs and behaviors, while also giving them tools to strengthen connection at home. Together, we work on healing challenges, building resilience, and fostering a stronger bond so both parent and child feel more understood and supported.”
When working with adults, I often use CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) to help untangle the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we notice unhelpful patterns, practice healthier ways of thinking, and build coping tools that make challenges feel more manageable. My goal is to help clients feel more empowered, confident, and capable of creating lasting change in their daily lives.
With children, I use Adlerian Play Therapy, which allows kids to express themselves through play while I gently guide the process. Play becomes their language, and through it we can explore feelings, build problem-solving skills, and strengthen self-esteem. I also involve parents, helping them understand their child’s needs and supporting a stronger, more connected parent-child relationship.
