Hi there! I am Denise. Does life feel out of control? Too quick? Too stressful? Have you experienced a loss? I specialize and hold certifications in grief, trauma, youth mental health, ADHD and Autism. I have spent many years working with families, teenagers and adults by helping identify and resolve problems with some techniques to help. I am looking forward to working with you!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In their first session with me, you can expect to have time spent with me discussing what brings you to therapy and what you hope to accomplish in therapy. We will get to know each other to make sure we are a good fit. It is my belief that everyone has to have a trusting relationship to be able to make the changes that are desired in their life. I thank you for the opportunity to work with you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am invested in each of my clients. I truly care and am empathetic to what changes people desire to achieve. I am up front and honest through out the process. I believe that "it does not matter what someone knows until you know how much they care" (Maya Angelou). I have extensive training and experience in education, Social Work, life experience, and also being a qualified clinician and therapist. It does not matter your background with me you will find a peaceful and safe place.

My treatment methods

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing is a process by which a therapist can communicate with someone to help the person move toward the change they seek in their life.

Christian Counseling

For Christian clients, who desire counseling with a Christ-centered approach this is provided when requested.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

When CBT is most effective in therapy it is implemented along with psychoeducational as we work on changing our thoughts, behaviors, and actions.

Eclectic

Eclectic is usually my favorite approach that is implemented using different approaches as we discuss the very specific needs that you have and create a method to obtain your goals.

Psychoeducation

I use as most Social Workers do a whole person-centered approach. I will collaborate with you to see the whole picture of your life. We will work together to learn strategies to help you in whatever struggles you are experiencing.
