New to Grow
I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor. I am a former school counselor who spent over 20 years helping students and their families work corporately to identify and manage feelings and behaviors that impacted daily functioning. I graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor's degree in teaching and completed my graduate work in counseling at Florida International University and Barry University. My passion for being in this field comes from believing that every individual should have a safe space to work through life challenges while feeling supported.
In our initial sessions, you can expect to receive a wide range of strategies designed to reduce overwhelming emotions and replace negative patterns with healthier coping mechanisms. My practice is uniquely tailored to meet the individual needs of each client, drawing from a variety of therapeutic techniques and specialization.
I can guarantee clients will find a safe space for them to process trauma and life struggles that disrupt daily functioning. The importance of building healthy relationships is also pivotal to part pf my therapeutic practice as I pride myself in creating a safe, caring and encouraging environment where all are welcome.
As a Licensed Mental Health Therapist, I specialize in working with clients who are navigating challenges such as family conflict, anxiety, PTSD, and emotion regulation. My approach is centered on creating a safe, inviting space where clients can openly share their experiences and feelings, which often have a significant impact on daily functioning.
This method focuses on the relationship between a client's thoughts, feelings and behaviors. I assist client with identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to mental health struggles.
This is a goal-oriented approach where I work with clients to emphasize strategies that build on their strengths and resources to help achieve their desired outcome.
