I would like to help you. I am a couples and relationship therapist. You can read about my style in the paragraph below. I work in 45 minute video sessions. You can always reach me by the messaging and I will answer within 24 hours, except weekends. I am a licensed Florida therapist. with 24 years of experience in both private practice and a health care setting. I have worked with people of diverse cultures and orientations, helping both individuals and couples with issues of depression, communications, relationship enhancement, and other issues of daily living. My approach is personal and draws from the many sources and mentors I have been privileged to have studied and worked with during my practice years. I remain open to new ideas and ways of helping my clients. I know inside you are the answers. I, or any therapist, can only help provide you with the self knowledge you may need to understand and free yourself. In our first session together I would like to hear from you where the marriage or relationship is not working and how you see resolving your issues. I also take a history. If time permits, in the first session I will teach you six skills and six tools to help you communicate better and in a more effective and constructive way, without destructive language or patterns.
As an experienced therapist with thousands of hours of work with couples, my greatest strength is to help couples reunite and re-kindle the love they once felt for each other through communication skills that work and have been used successfully many times over.
I primarily do relationship and couples counseling and use humanistic therapy methods to reach the place of conflict between the parties and help them resolve conflicts.
In my couples and therapy work I use person centered psychotherapy methods to reflect back to the client the conflicts they voice and to help them understand better ways of dealing with one another
I use CBT to help couples or individuals understand that when they change their thoughts and self-talk, they change the world they live in, and this strengthens the individual or couple in dealing with conflict.
With compassion therapy I teach couples and individuals the importance of kindness and self-acceptance, which translates to compassion and how to be kind to others.
